What he does is pre-makes the rhythm and drum sections and uses a looper pedal, that's the reason you hear nearly a full band when he play some of his covers. He doesn't have perfect pitch, but what he has, from what he's mentioned in past videos, is a really good sense of relative pitch.

I believe he sometimes makes mistakes (I never heard it but I don’t have perfect pitch so I can not judge) but overall I think he has perfect pitch. His accuracy is insane while listening to new songs and playing them about 30 seconds after hearing it.

@@ewaaah605 He himself has specifically said, in his video "How I Play Every Song Request", that he has relative pitch, rather than perfect pitch (and he even describes what relative pitch is pretty well in that video). Marcus Veltri, another KZbinr/musician he's collaborated with, has admitted to having perfect pitch, but TheDooo has made it clear that he has relative pitch.

@@jochar3216 Yeah, it does, but he himself has said that one of the biggest reasons he can play songs he's only just heard perfectly, apart from theory, training, and what not, is the fact that he has relative pitch. All those things combined make for a really impressive combination.

TheDooo has this thing called relative pitch and while it isn't as good as perfect pitch, I guess he's honed it to a really high degree from the years of playing the guitar and so he can just play a song after listening to it once and make it seem effortless.
