When I look back I feel they could have gotten away with using a stunt double for the hanging scene... but Brendan did it and ended up sustaining a lifelong neck injury because of it 😔 such a legendary actor of the time!

Brendan sadly went through something horrific because of Hollywood, but got a well deserved standing O this year The Whale at the London Film Festival for over 5 minutes! In the early '90's, Wes Craven, John Landis, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Clive Barker, Mick Garris, Joe Dante, and George Romero were considered for Directing the film, until Stephen Sommers, a fan of the original film, was brought in after his last film, DEEP RISING, bombed at the box office. Before Brendan Fraser was cast as the hero, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt were considered. The film was a box office and critical success making $420 million dollars against a $75 million dollar budget.

Camels can also carry heavier loads than horses, and that too for longer distances. They can quickly move around 400-600 pounds on their back and travel faster than horses in deserts. Horses aren't surefooted as camels on sandy terrain, which slows them down.

The Mummy is of the legendary 'Universal Monsters' franchise. The original series of films jumped off 90 years ago. It was more about horror and intrigue. Remaking this legend with just dark elements wasn't enough. Adding action, adventure and humor made it even cooler. Brendan Fraser was already a star. But these movies made him a megastar. The only big movies he really stuck with for nearly a decade. Followed by 2 sequels, an animated series on Kids WB and one spinoff series (The Scorpion King). Many decisive opinions vary on the 2017 remake with Tom Cruise. Enjoy if you do the rest of these films.

Yes indeed they continued. 2 times: The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The third one is the weakest due to Rachel Weiz not returning to play Evy so the chemistry wasn’t there between Brendan and the one who was recast in the roll. The Mummy Returns also stars The Rock which both kick started his jump to doing movies and also spun off his role as The Scorpion King into another series The Scorpion King franchise. Rock was only in the first Scorpion King and than they followed up with a lot of prequels (yes prequels. Showing Scorpion King as a kid and I think a teen before jumping ahead to as an adult who was now an assassin)

Hi !... You are easily my favorite reactor...this film deserved more time to enjoy your reactions...Brendan and Rachel were great together throughout the story line and the written comedy lines and physical comedy made it a blast...and yes..she is a very striking woman..I think we can all agree on that... Brendan and Rachel do come back on the second installment which is fun and you'll get to learn more about her family history and see more of the Princess as well but she isn't the lead in number three..I think it shows in the chemistry on that filming... Brendan has been troubled with health issues for a while now...even still he released a new film 'The Whale' that had mixed reviews but seemingly was applauded by many actors...in the past Brendan did many comedy films...I think his start was in 'Encino Man' and he also did 'Dudley Doo-right'..lol...there were some more serious ones in which he again showed off his physical talents... Overall..I enjoy him as an artist..I wish him well with his current health concerns... Have an excellent week..always good to see you...🌿🌿🌿

Not sure if you've seen it already or not, but the same actor that plays Benny is in another movie that's a great sort of 'horror comedy' of that time: Deep Rising. He's hilarious in that movie too I think, and even though the CGI is incredibly outdated, it's still one of those fun watches because of the actors and the action sequences. Would definitely recommend if you're into those sorts of films and want to squeeze something fun/campy in before the end of October.

Eve is one of my 3 “wish I could” be people. Her, Sandra Bullock and Candace Owens. What liked, even though Rick was there to help her, she was no damsel in distress. She was pretty kick but so the let her keep her ‘girl power’ instead of Rick doing 💯 And I have to say…. I find it disgusting that Rick would be considered a toxic man because he’s so masculine. I don’t want a world of Bennys. I especially wanted to be her when Rick kissed…..her but alas, I live in reality. Lol The second one is even better, in my book. The third one was poorly done and they replaced Evelyn. If I’m not mistaken, he as badly injured during filming and still has issues.

This movie is so much better than the 2017 reboot with Tom Cruise. It was supposed to be the start of The Dark Universe, which involved Universal Monsters being part of the same universe, but this was scrapped due to the poor box office and critical disappointment, making $400 million dollars against a $195 million dollar budget. To me the movie still holds up to this day. The sequel is actually really good in my opinion, aside from some bad cgi in moments but the third one didnt have Rachel W playing Evelyn and it just tanked for me.

There are two sequels: The Mummy Returns (with 4 of the same actions) and The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (with just 2 of the same actors -- Rick and Jonathan). I liked them both but the 2nd one better.

And a Spinoff , The Scorpion King , just with the sequel’s villain ofc but fun watch.
