This was supposed to be the series finale for Spongebob. They made three season and then focused on the movie. But Nickelodeon was all "no, please. here's a giant pile of money, keep em comin."

Which is probably the reason why the following seasons after the movie, the writing just subsequently became lazy and lacking in quality. I say that being a kid born in the 90’s, and having grown up watching the original seasons. Actually you know what, if I ever decide to rewatch the show, I’ll watch series 1-3 then the "SpongeBob SquarePants movie" then stop there. Sure it’s always remained to be a massive cash-cow for Nickelodeon, but there naturally should be a point where companies realise they’ve "milked" their cow too much and for long enough and stop. It’s not like SBSP is like Doctor Who or anything lol

There's a computer game based on this movie I used to play all the time. The big differences: We helped Plankton steal the crown. Before getting in the Patty wagon, we had to find the passcard for the elevator. Mindy was grounded, so we busted her out so she could steal the seahorse carriage. Them with their mustaches had two little side quests where we recovered a stolen pearl necklace and took up a cause to get a doctor to treat invertebrates. When they "died" it was only SpongeBob who almost died, and we had to help Patrick find a way to cry on SpongeBob so he wouldn't die. Recovering a whistle to summon Hasselhoff, but in the game they just called it the *dolphin noises*. Upon getting back to Bikini bottom, we had to steal both the krabby patties back, and a subetha frequency emitter to attach to an amplifyer, along with a better speaker for the guitar finale.

10/10 Goofy goober rock, wonderfully heartwarming gem! Even as an adult I love this Spongebob movie! Great story where Plankon brain controls bikini bottom and the 2 pals Spongebob and Patrick have to go on legendary adult adventures to save everyone. The humor is spot on, whacky characters, inspiration up the wazoo, and loads of entertainment. Anyone a fan of the series or not is bound to enjoy the 2004 movie.

I remembered being so weirded out by the whole ice cream thing back in time when was, like, six-seven years old. My thoughts were "Can ice cream even do that to you, what? Jeez, Spongebob, what is going on, you look messed up ...". I genuinely could not process what was all of this about, I jest felt confused and genuinely couldn't figure out why anything of this unfolds. However, the movie got me hooked, because I haven't seen it fully until I turned twelve. I think I've realised the alcohol pun at that point, and then thought "the boys are getting drunk on ice cream, unreal bro, LMAO". If you ask me what made me realise the joke is that, well ... I've seen people, okay?

You can actually find "spongebob" in the sea. Not a square sponge mind you but definitely sponges of all different shapes and colours. After all sponges are simple organisms that live in the ocean and i think there are a few species that live in fresh water.

Only completed the movie game. The Flying Dutchman game I got stuck on the goo lagoon level. I sadly never played Battle for Bikini Bottom because I never got the game. It is called a 10-gallon hat because the hat's (originally sombrero) crown was big enough to hold 10 hatbands.
