I have seen most of TWD, but I decided to watch it again from the beginning and I saw that you two were starting it! So I look forward to watching it along with you guys! I love horses and I was more upset about the horse being killed then the people!

Every single episode was like this. The storyline, the acting, the make-up and special FX, even the awesome songs played! At least up into Season 5. Still good, but something changed. Still watch it though!

As a fan since day one first episode…I hope you guys stick with the show and watch all the way to the current/final season…and the spin-offs…also the time between Rick being shot and waking up is somewhere around 3/4 months…the events of season 1 from him waking up takes place over the course of 7-10 days

I am always so impressed with the actors that play Rick and Morgan's Southern accents, ESPECIALLY since they are both English/British. Living only 3hrs from Atlanta myself (East TN) their accents are SO good.

@@jesusdenmark3664 southern accents are SO diverse and unless it's something like creole or Apalachian I don't think they are very easy to pin down to a location. I know I couldn't tell you what a GA, KY, NC,SC, AL, TN, etc accent sounds like LOL. Country is country. Even in TN there are many different country accents. The actors accents are extreme examples of country of course, but I never would have guessed the actors were English. I've seen American actors that couldn't do it as well as them.

I wouldn't worry about the "dip" in quality later on, it's still really enjoyable especially if you binge watch it and it does picks itself back up after the rough patches. Regardless, I'm always excited to see new people discover this awesome show, happy watching!

@@porgyt7177 Like new characters coming in and just dying and not connecting with the audience like earlier original characters. After some of the Negan stuff I really couldn't care about the new groups as people just get introduced, named and die off. Rinse and repeat. Hence why viewers are so much lower than what they were. I don't know anyone in life who speaks about it anymore, I had friends that all watched it, talked about it, back in school. Maybe because it's just been on for so long. But it's definitely dipped.

I thought it does pick up at Season 9 and the characters introduced in Season 6-8 become much more interesting and even though some of the new character introduced in Seasons 9-11 haven't been utilised as much as they could be, they've had their moments

@@mawangshallhang late reply but yea, and whenever they needed a pick up in viewership they’d just kill off a super important character, purely for shock value, and at great expense for the narrative (it’s been years since some of them and I will never not be salty about some of the stupid decisions the writers made) The show quality is probably fine tho, as long as your favorite characters are Rick or Daryl, or you don’t care about the characters and only care about the gore and action lmao 🤣

Hes in Atlanta, Georgia and its been about 2 months in. The zombie rules: there weren't ever any entertainment with zombies in this universe, there are two types of zombies(aka walkers); lurkers and active walkers(lurkers sit, lay or stay still until prey arrives and the active ones/walkers are constantly walking and end up in hordes of other walkers), the "smart" walkers are only in season one, the show runner make that mistake, the graphic novel writer/creator of TWD Robert Kirkman told the show runner Frank Daramont to not put smart walkers in the show because the walkers need to represent The Night of the Living Dead zombies(slow and dumb, cant climb, cant run, doesnt remember or think, doesnt pick up things, etc..).

This is very much a binge show, and the story is pretty engrossing well until you get till around season 7--8 it stats to decline. It's not terrible, but it's never reached the heights of the earlier seasons.

I think this is one of the best Pilot episodes in TV history I remember watching it for the first time and being instantly hooked. Andrew Lincoln (Rick) is an amazing actor. Till this day we are still a little unsure about how long Rick has in his coma after the gun shot, but like you said at least a couple months.

You’re in for a treat! This show is so damn amazing. Yes, there is a “slump” much later on, but getting to binge makes a HUGE difference. You can power through and it’s WAY more interesting. After the slump it really finds it’s feet again and becomes an even better show imo. It really is one of the greatest TV shows ever made. Yeah, binge watching is the best way to watch The Walking Dead, cause there are some points where I feel it would’ve been tough to wait week to week for the next episode, just cause of the slump. That gun is a .357 (which is a pretty beefy round) magnum. The actual name is called a .357 Python. That gun is relatively old but it got massively popular due to this series. So the value of the gun went way, way up. (guns actually change in value and you can get lucky and have something like a massive pop culture hit happen and your once 600 dollar gun can sell for 2,000.

No spoilers follow (im pretty sure) - The female zombie next to the bike is actually a friend of mine from High School. She was one of the horse eaters as well, in less icky and more bloody makeup. She's actually quite Hot, not at all icky as she appears in this. - This is a world where the word Zombie is not a thing. Thus throughout you will hear many terms for them, like Walkers, said In this episode. - He said Atlanta. All the downtown scenes Were shot on location in Real downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout the series you will see Alot of Atlanta and Georgia. I enjoyed your watch, I'll certainly tune in for more.

I even 'goggled' the flower's decomp time the first time I watched it... about a week to die. This is supposed to have been over a couple of months with his family escaping sometime in the middle of that time span. And 'Kirkman', the author of the Comic that this show is based on, held the idea that there were no such things as Zombies in this world. So this is the first time the population is seeing 'The Walking Dead'... just like you. Thanks for reminding me of the original 'EXCITEMENT' of this show, I am sure you will enjoy it.

I was quite late to this party myself, hitching up on the bandwagon right before season 6 premiered, but not living in the US, I had to catch up via streaming. That said, I can tell you without a doubt, this is the best way to watch this program. No commercials, the ability to stop and start it at your leisure, and binge. It's highly bingeable, and the characters will hook you in. Even as late as I was to this, it's incredibly nostalgic to look back on season 1 and see how far everything has come. You are in for an incredible journey. The only warning I may give is...without spoiling anything, many fans are a bit polarised over seasons 7 and 8, so just be aware of that going in. You'll watch the world of the show change and evolve in some rather bizarre ways at times. But I'm anxious to see how you like it as you go on!

There are actually some short episodes called "The Walking Dead: Webisodes" which tell stories that were shown here, for example the walker that Rick killed "bicycle girl". That webisode tells what happened to her, and also about the message written at the hospital door. :)

i waited to watch the show as well. i started last month and binged all 10 seasons straight through. i caught up with season 11. now i'm waiting and i really don't like waiting. i should've paced myself. also, the slower/bad episodes aren't so bad when you binge because you just slide right through them as opposed to sitting and ruminating for a week. so i barely noticed. it's a great show

Loved, loved, loved your reaction! One of your Patreon peeps has probably already answered this question, but just in case...it's never been stated in the show how long Rick was in a coma. Someone reported comic book creator Robert Kirkman as having said it was about 4-5 weeks, while some fan-created timelines have it around 54 days or so. Either way, the main show left it a mystery as to how he was able to survive that long. There is, however, a short webisode series that provides a possible explanation. I wouldn't worry too much about the series getting better or worse. It's all pretty subjective. There's a season or two that some people hate and other people love. I don't want to influence you one way or the other, so I'm not going to say which are my favorites and which overall seasons I may not be as crazy about. You'll get differing opinions on that anyway. Just watch and enjoy. You'll know whether you're feeling it or not. I will add, however, that I've never lost my love for the characters, even through all their ups and downs. I think you'll probably feel the same way. 😊

@@porgyt7177 I agree with Mark. ... POSSIBLE "SPOILER" BELOW... (and, I do not think this is for Rob or Trin to read!!) Well, without wanting to start a discussion or anything, and hoping this is not a spoiler. IMO, a few characters survive longer than what would have felt appropriate given the events. I think that the show would have provided a better story and somewhat been more plausible/realistic if some charaters would have died at certain points in the story. But this is just an opinion regarding storytelling and scripts. So, for these reasons I think that the show suffered in quality, i.e. the story could have been better. And, I have actually not watched the last seasons because of this, it dropped my interest, but it may have been just me, moving on to something else. And once again, this is just an opinion, my opinion, some other people love it all the way! and that's awesome for them! more to enjoy!! ;)
