Just came across your channel, very cool. I have a 97 E36 vert. I replaced my stock radiator with a Mishimoto and it ended up having leaks after a little while, same as your at the brazed joints on the end tanks, and causing a mild overheat. I think they're junk personally. I put a new stock radiator in and no problems. Mishimoto wouldn't warranty it either because I bought it from ebay and the vendor wasn't a certified Mishi distributor. Who knows, maybe they're selling knock off's out there? It came in original packaging, and looked like the real deal to me. Anyway, I'm following, and good luck with the E36! I buy all my parts from FCP now, and live 2 towns over from Milford, so I always pick up my parts there.

I'm sorry I didn't see this comment earlier. It was a weird failure to be honest. I've seen it happen on other radiators before. Mishimoto's warranty process is towards approved vendors only. The radiator in this car originally came with the car so I wasn't the first owner and couldn't claim a warranty myself. I ended up replacing it with one off the shelf from FCP Euro. If I run into an issue again I may run another one or go another direction entirely. One major modification I made to the vehicles cooling system since is in regards to the expansion tank. I made the decision last year to turn this car into a dedicated track/race car. So HVAC is gone entirely and with that I am now going to run an E30 expansion tank in the back right corner of the engine bay like a Euro E36 M3. The advantage in doing that is the cooling system is self bleeding. Any potential air pocket or air entering the system can be bled off that way and prevent a major overheat problem. At this point the car is in a lot of pieces but I hope to get it done at some point this year. Hopefully when the COVID crisis is over we may run into each other when you're picking up parts from us.

Do the engine swap video please

Filmed it and lost a bunch of footage from the camera. I will still put something together but have been slammed over the last couple of weeks. I will try to get something together before I leave for Vegas next week.

It happens. Good news is the replacement engine is already swapped in and is running. Will have a video of that and a teardown of the failed engine coming up.
