Isn’t it just sooo satisfying to ride a horse you started from scratch. That feeling of the first rides out in the world. The conversations you have together...😊

If you're still training when I am finally able to have a horse, I'm heavily considering adopting a TIP mustang from you. You do so good with them! I want one that hasn't been messed with, but realistically greenbroke by a trainer I trust is probably the way I should go.

I agree with you about completely dismounting before they buck, at least in this situation. To funny about your shirt, intresting actually. Hes a water horse thats for sure🤣wonder how he is going to handle creeks😊

Wow! Wyeth is doing absolutely amazing!! We had a leopard spotted Appaloosa when we lived in SC. Red clay abounded. I feel your pain.

I live in NC with lots of red clay as well lol our elephants at the NC zoo are red, on our way home from the zoo once, my little brother saw Hereford cattle in a field and thought they were elephants, because they were the same color lol

My Mare Peaches (16.2 hands Thoroughbred Appendix) HATED it when I ride bareback. She would fidget and keep shaking her skin like I was an annoying fly. There was an incident where (about 14 years old) I was galloping bareback uphill (done it plenty of times, my first horse was fine with it) with only a halter and lead line (no helmet) when she tripped while galloping.....and I “lost” 2 hours of memory. Blank, gone. Long story short, I had fallen straight into the hard August Earth head first at a full gallop (my arm saved my life, acted like a fleshy cushion). Had a near perfect football concussion apparently. I even got up, walked with my Mom back to the barn, and Wormed Peaches. Mom noticed Peaces put up Zero Fight for the worming (try worming 1500lbs of NOPE). Apparently Peaches sensed something was wrong with me. Then I started to talk like a broken record......... Yep. Mom took me and my little brother to the ER...where I puked my GUTS OUT as soon as I entered the ER waiting room. Doctors standing there chilling just looked at this and announced “Concussion!”. I came to full awareness 2 hours later after the Cat Scan. I did ride again.......but with a damn helmet and only rode bare back walking and trotting on level ground for training purposes. Yea. I HATE PUKING 🤢 🤮. Not only did a doctor give me a Christopher Lee (He played Superman back in the day till a horse accident crippled him), but a nurse told me that after work she and her 2 western riding nurse friends where buying helmets after work because I looked like Hell apparently. 😅They did not want me to sleep so I got to stay up and watch “Pandora’s Box” on NBC (made for TV movie).

It's funny how they all have their little quirks. My horse is scarred to death of hats. A helmet is ok but he doesn't like hats. Solution for Wy. Wear a shirt made just for him. He doesn't want a gojohnnygo shirt!!!

When starting to break do you use an English or western saddle or is it just down to personal preference? I would have thought an English saddle would be easier to dismount from when first backing but just wanted your view, thanks 😃
