I just see Eton going, "What are you DOING, Woman?! Make up your mind!" Lol He is making HUGE strides. I can't believe how quickly he is adjusting. Do you think he will be one you keep? He seems to be a one-person horse.

3 weeks ago you couldn't scratch your nose without him running into the fence. Now he is all laid back. Even the bouncing isn't forcing reaction. Wow!

Im just in awe right now! Wow what a difference since you got him!!! He is so much more relaxed now, you are really putting down amazing groundwork to make him hold, not just pushing and pushing til they crack like ive seen other people do with mustangs!

WOW! Since his condition has improved, and you've been able to groom him a bit, he has turned into such a looker! His behavior has improved leaps and bounds of course. The entirety is just such a stunning picture overall. He is a diamond becoming quite polished in so many ways! Edit: He really seems to be enjoying the affection now too! ❤

Bless his heart. He's really come a long way since you first brought him home. It seems like he's very leery of vehicles every time you walk him by one. Makes me wonder if it's because it reminds him of being chased and captured. Gosh, you did great with him this session! I bet tomorrow he'll let you completely get on!!😊 I love him!❤

😮 Wow! I wasn’t expecting any of that in today’s video, he did amazing!!🤗 I am so happy for the both of you. Seems like you’re kind of in a sweet spot with him, to where he’s accepting a lot more....and holding your weight, if even for half a second, was a lot!! I am so glad I found your channel when I did, because watching both Eton’s and Wy’s journey with you has been eye opening!! Your videos put a big smile in my face, so thank you for all you do for these amazing animals and sharing it with us 😉😊❤️

With your care he's looking great and making good progress. I agree with the others; there is something special about this guy. I think he already knows where the jumping game is headed. He seems highly intelligent but always on the alert (I'm giving him the nickname Norad). We're pulling for him.

Wow. That was a huge step for him today. I notice he is swishing his tail now, which means that he is more content and happy. He is so very beautiful in appearance, I really like this boy a lot. Well done Elisa, you really are the tops. Thank you so much for posting.
@haleylahaie37405 жыл бұрын
Tail swishing is an indication of agitation, confusion, frustration, or that they are feeling overwhelmed. Considering his jumpiness at her movements and how he watches her like he believes she's unpredictable and the fact that at one point he went from jumping and turning due to her(likely unintentional) ambushes to running to attempt to escape I do think his tail swishing was anything but content. I highly doubt this woman has anything but love for this horse and nothing she is doing is cruel, but this horse was confused and nervous.
@kmil19675 жыл бұрын
I just love how his progress is coming along and how you use your natural intuition to move forward with him! I got enjoyment from him releasing his energy threw his tail swishing to help with his pressure and he seems it’s almost a game to him also, your bouncing technique is at the perfect moment when he accepted you with weight for that brisk timing yet I expect when you do accomplish he will launch forward a bit when you do. Your doing amazing and enjoy all your videos! I just love your natural skills 😃

That was great to watch! I live for the day when this guy gets to a place where he can accept some deep muscle relaxation/manipulation to counter all those years of high tension in his body... do you use those sort of techniques as they get more used to being handled? (Just curious, since I also follow New Zealand horsewoman Vicki Wilson, and I feel like Eton is the perfect candidate for that sort of treatment - I can just picture him rediscovering his body in a much more blissfully relaxed state!!) What a great journey to have been following 😌

Helen Scott Skittish =/= stupidity... The scared flight animal is the one to survive. That's an evolutionary advantage.
@CeruleanRogue5 жыл бұрын
He's actually pretty smart based on how quickly he's picking everything up. He's just terrified. Now that he's calmed down you can see he's thinking stuff through and picking it up fast. A horse who lacks intelligence won't make it in the wild, let alone to six years old.+
@shadrackzulu61385 жыл бұрын
I won't come apart (I'm one of those from a different time and place where you could disagree without being disagreeable) but will offer a different opinion. I believe (based only on video observation) that Eton simply processes stimuli differently than Wy. First, let me state that I know little to nothing about horse psychology (but I did recently stay at a Holiday Inn Express). Borrowing from human psychophysiology, I'd suggest that Eton, like the introvert of our species, is in a naturally high state of sensory arousal and it doesn't take much stimuli (e.g. sight, sound, touch, smell) to overfill his arousal "bucket", leading to stress. In his still wild-horse brain, this leads to the instinctive flight/fight/freeze (F3) response. As a prey animal, that's what kept him alive for a number of years. This has nothing to do with intelligence, simply his sensitivity to stimulus and which part of his brain controls his responses. We each seek our stimulation comfort zone (that's why the introvert prefers a quiet dinner party with a few friends while the extrovert, who needs additional stimulus to be comfortable, prefers the large party). I would speculate that, once Elisa overcomes the instincts of his lower brain with trust and training (which I think we are starting to see), he will start using his "thinking" brain more and overcome the F3 response. He may continue to be sensitive to over-stimulation and may not require as much sensory input to communicate instruction (perhaps no need for a bit or spurs). I base my early assessment of his "smarts" on his ability to adapt to Elisa's training techniques and recall that from session to session. What you see as "slowness" is more a factor of the strength of his survival brain still controlling his actions. Once Elisa removes that obstacle, I predict rapid progress in his training. I may be wrong (I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer myself) but I wish them (Eton and Wy) the best. You gotta admit, it's fun to watch their development.
