Very beautiful truck. Congratulations. I got my first truck too. It is similar to yours but it is 09 xlt. What I like about older rangers is they have 6feet bed but yet they are so compact and can fit inside small garage. Thank you. Good luck with your great truck.

We’re on our 4th Ranger. Our current one is an XLT super cab 4X4 with a 4.0 V6, auto transmission. We bought it in 19 and it had only 20K miles. We don’t like silver so I had it 2 toned. It’s now Silver over Red metallic. I had it reupholstered to match the exterior colors. It has custom wheels, running boards, LineX spray in bed liner, adjustable rear air shocks, skid plates, tow pkg, LSD. I was getting 19mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph, so I added a K&N intake and a FlowMaster exhaust. I’m now consistently getting 23mpg. Next year I’m adding low restriction headers and a tonneau cover. I change the oil every 4K miles with Mobile 1 full synthetic and the front and rear differential, transfer case and a transmission flush every 30K miles. Our Ranger will soon be 12 years old and it only has 35K original miles.

Don't get me wrong, they are great trucks. But I wish to buy a single cab, long bed, automatic 4L V6 Ranger with adequate price. Just do you know, a truck like yours would cost roughly 20k here.

FYI you don’t need to put it in neutral to shift to 4 high only 4 low. And overdrive is always on, you usually turn it off when towing a trailer, usually called a tow haul button.
@ricardovlogos1012 жыл бұрын
Wayne…my overdrive doesn’t do that. When it’s on it saves my gas by my rmp around 1 to 2 maximum rmp.
@ricardovlogos1012 жыл бұрын
But if it’s off it goes high up (rmps)
@waynemontgomery48522 жыл бұрын
@@ricardovlogos101 yes save on gas with overdrive. Overdrive is always on unless you turn it off. Rpms are higher when not in overdrive. The only time you take it out is if your towing a heaven trailer and need higher rpm’s to climd a hill or whatever.

Cool machine! You didn't mention what the 'traction control' button did though? BTW I've always loved the little trucks. I'm 6'-2" and still prefer them. My first was a '78 Toyota pickup 2wd. Then a '86 Toyota pickup 2wd which I bought new and retired in '09 when I bought my first Ford Ranger which I'm still driving but is getting pretty rusty. Rusty but trusty : ) And I've always driven manual trans.
@blakesilverthorn21702 жыл бұрын
Traction control does what it says it's self explanatory
@dkeith452 жыл бұрын
@@blakesilverthorn2170 I wonder if it's similar to a friends Toyota Tacoma that has a 'Clutch cancel' button on the dash? If you turn the key to on, then press the CC button you can start the truck without using the clutch pedal. And if you're in a tight spot, you can put it in first gear, 4L with the engine off, turn the starter to ON, press the CC button, turn the ignition to START and the starter will propel the truck forward without any slippage backward, and either get you out of that spot, or the truck will start while moving forward, all so there's no backward movement. Pretty interesting feature great for some tricky off road situations. Otherwise only useful as a way to start the truck without sitting in the drivers seat. OR, I suppose it would be a nice way to get your truck off to the side of the road if it breaks down in the middle of the road. Like happened to my Ranger a couple years ago when the timing belt broke at a stop sign. Using the CC button the truck would be able to drive to the side of the road using the starter so no need to push the truck from the outside.
@blakesilverthorn21702 жыл бұрын
@@dkeith45 Traction control basically detects individual loss of traction in each tire so if 1 tire is loosing its grip the engine lessens power to that wheel to avoid spinning and regain grip while the tires with grip pull you pas the slippery spot.
