I like when I see people actually use what they bought. As I say about my wife, she would complain about a shovel getting dirty, while I'm in the process of digging the hole. It's a SUV. While it might be a six-figure SUV, it's not a supercar.

I bought a new Volvo wagon in 2002 after my first born came. When I took delivery I took it as is off the truck. Drove it home with plastic on the seats and the white delivery film on all exterior panels. I wanted to do it alllllll myself.

I know you didn’t ask for this feedback, but as a detailer there is a few remarks I have for you. 1) Rinsing your paint with a 15 degree nozzle is highly unrecommended as the chances of you going through your paint are much higher. Especially using a sun joe with that high of a pressure and such little flow. This is not due to the angle of the nozzle but the orifice of the nozzle. I recommend using MTM 2.5 or 3.0 orifice and a 40 degree angle. Go by the rule if it hurts your hand it will hurt your paint. 2) As for rinsing the car prior to working on the wheels is a big no no. As the chances of you leaving the water to dry then leaving water marks (due to hard water), while working on the wheels are incredibly high. I learned it the hard way. 3) When working on wheels, you could save time by using an old foam cannon having your wheel cleaner diluted up to 4:1 saving you a big chunk of cash and being more effective with that extra coverage. Also using a mitt will be more helpful when reaching for the back side of the wheels. 4) Consider using EZ detail Grit guards as they are far more effective with trapping dirt and reducing the chances of incorporating new swirls. 5) Use two mitts when working on the car one for the bottom part of the car and one for the higher part of the car. This will also help with dropping the chances of marring the paint. 6) Interior cleaning I can’t comment on as it seemed fair. Just consider using some form of UV protectant as it’ll help with fading of plastic bits.

@adamtench44474 жыл бұрын
Great job on this car. This might be a useful tip, go around the car with the detail brush to get into those hard to reach areas whilst the foam is dwelling before hosing off. You'll then spend less time on the contact phase of the wash 👍

Just to let you know as another detailer, you do not need to condition these leather seats. Almost all new leather seats have a coating on them the allows them to go without conditioning. Conditioning them is just leaving an unnecessary layer on them.
@ljjames63544 жыл бұрын
That unnecessary layer is actually an extra layer of protection on seats that will be sat on many times, the more protection they have and the more conditioning they have the longer the life of the seat will be and the longer the seat will be at top quality 🙂

I don't like BMWs generally because I'm a Mercedes fan but BMW did well with the X7. The interior build and material quality is impeccable on the X7 and much better than the GLS. The interior doesn't look as good as the GLS but it has better build and material quality which is more important to me.
