Paul takes a couple of days off work to clean his Rolls Royce Silver Spirit 3, which has stood outside all of its life and has been left abandoned without being washed for over 5 years. How will it respond?

Great job on the paintwork, I would have a ceramic coat applied when you've finished with it. I think the car would look so much better without those all terrain tyres, I mean who thought that was a good idea fitting them🤔

You are doing a brilliant job on sorting out the paintwork. What I can’t fathom is the previous owners thinking in buying a set of Yokohama A/T tyres and making matters worse by whitening the lettering on the tyres on a Rolls Royce!!!!

I did a similar process recent on a 1987 ford thunderbird with only 21k original miles but had been left in a garage for 10+ years then in a driveway under a tree for 2 years. Should have documented it….it looked absolutely brand new when done.

I admire your energy and pace of work! I have a Genesis Electrified G80 which whilst not as big as a Silver Spirit is still a shade over 5 metres long, and has full PPF from new. Just to wash that car plus a full going over with a detailer product took me three days!!! Admittedly I have a serious OCD issues which means everything has to be perfect with no marks or anything but a glass smooth finish... but it half kills me! That said at 59 I'm a bit older than you, but I absolutely admire all the effort you put in, and the result is fantastic. As you say a full (one or two stage) machine polish will be needed to achieve a perfect result. A skilled bodyshop given the depth of lacquer on a Rolls Royce could well wet sand out a lot of those scratches. Great work!!!

The decontamination of the paint was nothing short of astounding. I'm doing annual maintenance keeping up with the paint and dings of a newer car, and it's work. After cleaning and detailing, I always hit it with a ceramic seal, and that holds up well.

I use industrial fallout remover on the vehicle body, which does an incredible job dissolving contaminates. Spray on the body, it goes on clear and watch it turn purple as the chemical works its magic. Best used in a well ventilated area though. Many products on the market with some working better than others. Take a look at Gtechniq W6 Iron and General Fallout Remover, its not bad. Spray on and leave for 5 minutes, then pressure wash off. It's not unusual to have to go over the body a couple of times using the fall out remover if the vehicles body is heavily contaminated. I never use clay bars. Also do invest in a proper DA polisher and different pads. I use a meguiars DA with meguiars 5" pads polishing and finishing pads. Meguiars compound polish is awesome as is the Meguiars ultimate polish, as is the DA meguiars finishing wax that is applied using a microfiber pad or cloth. I always finish my car bodywork with Griots ceramic 3 in 1 wax. This is so easy to apply and certainly gives my steel blue paintwork an awesome shine. Tyres, I use Adams graphene tyre dressing but I am still testing out other major brands to achieve my desired wet look finish. Best to detail the vehicle in a garage to be honest, not outside. Great video, and keep up your awesome work. Love n respect from Taiwan.

Use iron oxide spray remover (bleeding wheel cleaner) on the wheels and bodywork before clay barring - makes the job a lot easier and doesn't damage the paintwork. Put a thin plastic food bag over your hand when stroking the paintwork to check for any contamination, it gives your fingers greater sensitivity and glides over the paintwork better.

Your washing, cleaning, time & effort are all commendable, however, I read a long time ago that a car should preferably not be washed under a hot sun, or wait till late afternoon/early evening when the ambient temp. isn't so hot. That's why if you've noticed/observed, professionals almost always do their washing/cleaning, detailing, polishing under shade (ie, in a building, porch, etc).
