Hi Paul, excellent series on your RR, do you think that you might look into fitting a tow bar on that stunning car. I am in the process of trying to source a tow bar, but keep falling at the first hurdle. I have bought one for a Jeep wrangler *j-071, I'm going to look into fitting this to the rear crash bar with some box section bolted onto those massive bumper bolts. I meant to say, it's a Bentley turbo r that I have, very similar to your Rolls Royce. Keep up the stunning work mate.

Hi Paul, I'm just catching up on your series on the Rolls Royce, and enjoying it. I have a 1990 Silver Spirit II and according to the mechanic who did look after the car, leave the beauty rings off. The poor design of the clips means that the rings will, with time. fly off the rims and possibly be lost forever. Wheel weights on the inside, nice coat of black paint around the outer edge and whitewall tyres and she will be looking good and you wont have to fear potholes. Keep the rings stored away for safe keeping, especially if they are the original stainless steel ones. Cheap knock offs are of course available online. Alternatively, wear the cheap rings and save the good ones. Happy motoring.

I can relate to the garage problem, mine just fits with a couple of inches to spare. It's wide though so I can just squeeze in and out! Great job with the bumper Paul. Another shout out to Mrs Life on Cars letting you use the spare room to play! Hello from Scotland!

Dear Paul: Another excellent and instructional video. That bumper looks very nice. I was able to get valid license plates for my 1989 Mulsanne S here in Missouri on Friday, and spent some of yesterday driving about in the big girl. (It's white, but for some reason, I want to call it "The Death Star"? Maybe because it has taken a while to get fully operational.) It is every bit of wonderful to drive. It earned 8.5 MPG on the first half-tank of fuel, but that was with lots of idling and moving it around my garage and drive. I am optimistic that I might achieve 9 MPG in use. (!) However -- I was like one of your early episodes when my key nearly broke off in the stiff trunk lock after parking it in the garage for the evening. I have some blanks but had not had them cut into extra's yet, so I had a very costly visit from a mobile locksmith on a Sunday morning after church. The key still works but is very weak physically, so my next trip in the car will be directly to a very good locksmith to work on some new keys. My son Paul says this is a known problem on these cars, and there is no interior truck release as on most American luxury cars. So everyone pay attention. I am very happy to read that others are diving into these cars from watching your channel. They really drive superbly and are unique from other vehicles. Make sure to join the RR/Bentley club in your locale, as you have already made videos from other interesting cars and their owners. And Go Chiefs! -Bobo KC

Nice project. But never install rusty parts back. If not possible to replace with a new part, remove rust and spray with a rust converting spray paint. Porosity of such rusty surface will accelerate destruction of the whole component in few months. Always dump old and rusty nuts, bolts, springs. Just a bag of stainless-steel nuts and bolts would make all repairs decent.

It might have been better to dust off all the old cobwebs and debris with an old dry paint brush from the entire bumper and derust all the metal fitments before refitting the new parts, using new nuts and washers. Good secure job though.

Very 'riveting' video! I garage my cars, few do these days, and I have just a few inches to spare front to back, and worse still about a 1/2 to an inch either side thanksto the size of the folded door mirrors, in relation to the struts for the up and over garage door. I have to use a remote CCTV camera linked to my phone to view the passenger side, and a risk sacrificing my hand by putting it over the drivers door mirror when the mirror goes past the door strut! BTW this is a standard UK garage door opening, and the car - a Genesis Electrified G80, is a slightly over 5 metre long executive EV saloon. Modern cars are forever getting bigger!

Just thinking that If you can drive the front of your Rolls Royce up on a couple of ramps it may generate the extra few inches of clearance you need to be able to shut the garage door with the rear bumper installed?
