Recognized the little bus you caught. Your Dad lives in a really nice area. So nice you have a place to stay anytime you like and for your Dad to enjoy your company. How has he adjusted to life in Japan?

He loves it in Japan! It has good walkability and access to great public transit. The bus we took was a cute Tokyo local bus that’s very reasonable.

About the special Pikachus... Gotta catch 'em all! About the gatchas, if you're at a busy area and other people use that machine, you might be able to trade with them. I don't know how to ask in Japanese, but I have been able to make "trade" hand motions to get the point across to a lady who was obviously disappointed with the one she got. Great tips about getting ready for travel to Japan! A coin purse is really important! They have so many cute ones in Japan!! When using a physical IC card, its nice to have a cute card holder or something that makes it easy to tap through the train gates with out constantly taking it out and putting it back in your wallet all the time. These are easy to find in Japan since the system is everywhere. Pocket Wifi is so convenient in Japan! I prefer it when I need multiple devices connected and I don't want to have to keep allowing or logging into other networks. But since my next trip is with my husband and friends, I think we will also get Esims so we don't have to all stay in the same place to have access to the wifi or get disconnected. Have a great time! Looking forward to your next videos!

"gotta catch 'em all" lolll love that! and also didn't even think about potentially trading gashapons with others. So, thank you! & thanks for taking the time to watch my videos and leave a note :)

The one downside of eSIMs is that your regular cell phone number won’t work while you’re on your eSIM. You’d have to switch back to your regular SIM if you want to receive or make calls on your regular phone number.

I agree, but your phone should still be able to call 119 (emergency japanese number) incase of emergencies

My point was that your friends and family won’t be able to reach you on your regular phone number while you’re on the eSIM (would have to resort to a messaging app instead).

Before I left, I let my friends know to use WhatsApp. Worked great in Europe so I hope it will be the same in Japan.

I don't worry so much about coins. If I have too many, I just go to a temple or shrine and toss them into the coin box.

You need an iPhone to install Suica or IC card to your wallet, It won't work on an Andriod.
