Here in Melbourne AUS it is 42°c and I'm watching clips about yarn shopping. I really need my head read I think Jayda, chuckle. I like to visit Op/thrift shops and hit the yarn section. I did so whilst on summer holiday these past four weeks and I brought home a laundry basket full of yarn. I've found myself getting a little more pickier on what I grab because I know what my projects will more than likely be. My other way of buying yarn at one of our large chain haberdashery stores, Spotlight, are bags of Mill ends. Each bag weighs around 400g and can be from 2 - 8 balls depending on what it is. The full price is $9.99 but for members or sales we can average $5.49, and when you're getting several balls per bag that is a bargain.

We haven't tried it yet, but a lot of folks have and like it!

Hi Diane! Michael's tends to be a little on the expensive side, but they also have the nicest variety, so I guess it's a trade off! We're not sure when the next Live will be but we'll be sure to post it :)

Jayda you have an awesome personality. It's also so wonderful that your husband is involved. Can't wait to see what you create with the new yarn. Loved everything you picked out, gorgeous colors. Lori Schreiner USA

yes agreed...I love the money too...it does sorta remind you of Monopoly money..but way better than US currency. I would just like to say, I came across your channel when I was looking for a star pillow. Back 20 years ago I once made my husband what I called a silly star, but I made it out of material and sewed it together. Well, we have since moved several different times and it came up missing :( I no longer have my sewing machine, and I am pretty good with crocheting, so I was very pleased to find your star pillow. I just finished making it for him again, and it is sitting in his chair to be discovered when he wakes up. I am glad I was able to find your instructive tutorial and I just know it is going to bring back fond memories for him. Keep up the wonderful videos, I love being apart of yarn sales, even though I buy mine all online. I would just have to say, most of your yarn is a lot cheaper in Canada, than it is in the US, or at least places where I shop. The Mulberry one you showed, was probably same price as it would be here. Good deals though! Oh...and if you haven't sighed up with Michaels online...do it, they send out coupons once a week...and your very first one you get for signing up....is 50% off! Just saying.:) ~ waves from U.S.

Yeah New yarn. You look so happy. Does sound expensive for acrylic yarn. You probably have a better salary in Canada but yarnshopping seems cheaper in Germany. Just have to mention the old native woman sitting alone in the desert crocheting while waiting for costumers. Her shop is a blanket on the dirt and an umbrella to save her. But she was selling fabric made souvenirs. But amazing to see that. The first yarnshop I found here in Peru was in a food market in a desert town where people where eating lunch and you could not even look at the yarn. Have a good time with your new yarn.

the Canadian money is so pretty I would never want to spend it lol! ours is so ugly and now the new stuff looks like cool aid got spilled all over it. I was never really sure why loops and threads came out with the name "Copenhegan" on a yarn :( here in the US Copenhegan is a brand of chewing tabacco! so I never understood why they named it that lol I sell Copenhegan chew tabacco at my store lol Anyway it seems as if prices are the same after conversions which is why I love Coupons and sales and the apps available to us :) Love your choices Jada

OMG! I wish my Michael's had a Bernat Blanket and other bulky yarn section that big! At mine, there's just a couple tiny little stands of chunky yarn! It makes me SO mad because there's not that many good colors! Like, hello, I need ONE SKEIN OF YELLOW AND BLACK, NOT THIRTEEN SKEINS OF LAVENDER! Also, I have sinned! I started another project... God, save me, I'm making summer crop tops in JANUARY! Love the video. Mwah!

* giggle * I've experience that! I need blue. Just blue. Anybody? What's with the eighty shades of green??

@@JaydaInStitches Ugh, it happened last night, too! I had to go to all of the Michaels' in town before I finally found the exact shade of Super Saver yarn that I need for a project I was already working on-- I'm finally finishing some of my 75,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 projects! Be proud of me! Love me!

I enjoyed how happy you were looking and touching all the yarn. The thick and quick was a large skein. I think you pay more in Canada. Have you ever ordered from Herschners in the US or Wool Warehouse in the UK? Even with shipping, you might pay less with sales. Wouldn’t hurt to look. Also, you may be able to order 3 packs of yarn to be picked up at Walmart. Use the app. Good luck saving on yarn.
