I learned to crochet from my mum over 70 years ago and I still love to do so. As I don't have daughters of my own I learned my son(and later my grandson) the technique. Nowedays I still try to make youngsters enthousiast and it still works. I love yor ideas and use them with my 'students'. Thans for sharing your ideas.

I would love to go there! I only have 3 balls of yarn but I try to knit blankets and toys for animals in shelters. It seems so cool to have lots and lots of yarn

Thanks for sharing that with us. I use to work at the Mary Maxim retail store in Port Huron. It was quite a while ago. When Rusty's father was still alive. I worked in the yarn and craft department. I wish I was still there now. But unfortunately that store was closed. It really sad. It was nice to see that store, never seen it. And that one was bigger than the Port Huron one. Thanks!

I love Mary Maxim in London. Not nearly as big but the staff is remarkable! So helpful and kind. Also Mary Maxim has downloadable patterns almost as easy to follow as yours! I have loved these catalogues for as long as I can remember too. Thanks for sharing!

I just love that smile on your face. New Zealand was on lockdown for 6 weeks and we finally went to level 2 ( From level 4 while in total lockdown) and shops were allowed to open again. We had to keep social distancing (2meters apart) while in store but I needed a yarn fix. I love yarn and I have a card for the store that gives me a discount. I bought an instore shopping bag and filled it yummy yarn. Sadly I wasn’t allowed to cuddle or just squish the yarn but buying some fed my addiction. I spied several familiar things: Those giant Bates needles I just got the other day. That Ferris wheel yarn used to be carried at Joann. I snatched up several cakes of it before it went away. The colors are amazing. I have a few skeins of the Berroco comfort and it IS the most COMFORTABLE feeling yarn. So soft. That extra fine merino looked amazing. I caught a glimpse of some katia, which I've always wanted to try. Sadly, the retail store in Port Huron closed just a little over a year after I started crocheting and I never made it over there (I'm across the State). Guess I need to renew my passport so I can go shop across the border. LOL

Just received my order from Mary Maxim today that i ordered on line. Got 49 skeins of yarn, plus a free tote bag. Its my go to place to order. It was really nice to see where it came from. I live in Texas so it takes from 4 to 6 days to receive it. Their prices are awesone. Their yarn is fantastic.

I’ve gone to that store for years I started with embroidery kits and have slowly transitioned to crocheting . I’ve gone to the small store in London but it’s sooo small compared to the warehouse like store in Paris. I have to limit my visits because I seriously overspend when I go there lol. I am one of those ladies 'of a certain age'. Back in the 60s me and my stepmother were the only crafters in our house. When the Mary Maxim catalogue arrived, it was a scramble to see who would get her hands on it first. I order from MM to this day 🙂 It was really fun to see the store!

Thanks for the tour of Mary Maxim Jayda. I was there about 8 years ago and just loved their store, I think it's time to go back :-) I get their catalog and I just recently order some more yarn not that I needed it but who can resist some new yarn. What an awesome trip. That place is huge! I too saw the May Maxim catalog in my home when I was growing up. I also received some for a while and I still have them. Crafters are packrats. Funny, a couple of weeks ago I sat on my bedroom floor cutting out picture of crocheted afghans, throws and pillows to put in my crochet idea journal. I just went online to check the site out. Wow!
