Lyrics: Oh the bitter winds are coming in And I'm already missing the summer Stockholm's cold but I've been told I was born to endure this kind of weather When it's you I find like a ghost in my mind I am defeated and I gladly wear the crown I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me Now so much I know that things just don't grow If you don't bless them with your patience And I've been there before, I held up the door For every stranger with a promise But I'm holding back, that's the strength that I lack Every morning keeps returning at my window And it brings me to you and I won't just pass through But I'm not asking for a storm I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me And yes I might have lied to you You wouldn't benefit from knowing of the truth I was frightened but I held fast I need you now at long last I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me Just sing little darling, sing with me

One day I'll listen to this song and won't have tears running down, but it'll be a long while still. It's their voices and the steel guitar and the romance in the chorus and the everything. Tack!

@TDurdenArt 0 seconds ago I was working at Starbucks when I heard this song, at an absolutely miserable time in my life. No direction, no goals, no passions. I'm in a much better place now, but listening to this song now reminds me of the little comforts I'd take in, just to get me through the rough times. I'll always love this song.

This is the song I first listened to when I arrived Denmark on winter, a foreign land. Alone and far away from home, the first sentence hit me like a train, and I told myself I can endure this weather... I bought the ticket to First Aid Kit on Janurary, and I finally got to see them yesterday in Rosklide - Listening again to Emmylou after all that happened in these seven months, reminds me how amazing is life. Thank you for the great music :)

I just discovered these girls thanks to the KZbin algorithm, and for once, I'd like to thank KZbin for that. These girls are half my age. One of them, in fact, was born the same year as my daughter (1993). But their talent!! It's way more than their beautiful, otherworldly vocals. Their song crafting and lyricism puts them in the once-in-a-generation category, with the likes of Simon and Garfunkel, Lennon and McCartney, and so on. Like them, their song lyrics live on their own, away from the music. I don't describe myself as a fan because "fan" is the root word for fanatic, and fanatics are rarely sane. But I'm definitely an admirer of their rare talent and look forward to more of their musical output.
