Only a different way of singing the same notes of the same raga. Depends on what your ears are attuned to. In the South Indian tradition of singing the sahithya or composers words are clearly recognisable but in the Hindustani style of singing the song sounds like the same as Alapana, words of the composition are not so clear.

Bismillah Khan, Vilayat Khan, Dagar brothers and so on. But bringing Allah here was totally insensitive and grating on the ears of listeners. As anyway lyrics do not matter to the HM musician, why couldn't it be Kanha or something? Or some lyrical poetry by Iqbal?

It is unnecessary for an ordinary individual but if u play the notes on a piano, u will realise it will all have a pattern as whatever they sing must be in the ragam even if it's manodharmam. And singing it like that requires great intuition and musical knowledge
