It’s a significant achievement. Narendra Modi's dream is becoming a reality, particularly his vision of defense self-reliance, which he outlined when he first came to power. He has demonstrated success in many other areas as well. Unlike most leaders who make promises without delivering, Modi not only declared his vision before taking office but has also fulfilled it. He has made substantial progress in sectors like defense, railways, airports, digital infrastructure, and more. While people may not fully realize it now, history will show the impact of his efforts. Change doesn’t happen overnight, especially given India's socialist background and deep-rooted corruption. What Modi has achieved is comparable to Don Bradman’s legacy-though others may surpass records in the future, his accomplishments under such conditions will remain unmatched.

True, but it requires careful selection of words. India needs a standardized benchmarking system for all weapons acquired, whether indigenous or imported. These tests should be conducted live, allowing interested parties to observe and evaluate the approval process for each weapon. Let me provide a simple example: India is buying 31 MQ-9B drones from the U.S., with each drone costing around ₹2,700 crore-a deal totaling approximately $3 billion. But is it worth investing in these drones? While they may feature cutting-edge technology, just how advanced are they? The MQ-9 drones were originally introduced in 2002, and although they've received upgrades and are in demand, other drones in 2024 are even more advanced, such as the Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk and the Lockheed Martin SR-72. Are Indians expecting that the U.S. will provide India with the latest and most advanced military technology? The reality is no-and it never will. The U.S. only exports such technologies after they’ve been used for its own defense over an extended period. Only then do they sell to other nations, including India. India is currently lacking in infrastructure and support, and is spending heavily on purchasing these expensive manned and unmanned aircraft. Instead, the focus should shift toward developing advanced technological platforms, investing in infrastructure, and leveraging significant financial resources for research and development of next-generation aerospace systems
@RAJAT65554 ай бұрын
We can actually develop all the tech we need in-house, on our own. Unlike in the 50s, computer simulations enable us to test far more scenarios than physical testing can. Thankfully, due to the efforts of Dr. Vijay Bhatkar (who was given solid support by then PM Rajiv Gandhi), we have a strong supercomputer network, that can enable this. Add to it the "Physics-Informed Neural Networks" way of doing things, coupled with the fact that the necessary software is FOSS, and you have a scenario in which we can, as a country, become technologically self-sufficient in 10 years. The problem, however, is funding. I used to work in biomedical R&D as a mathematical biologist, and am now applying to get abroad, simply because no one in this country gives a damn about serious research; instead, they glorify "jugaad" as the one-stop panacea to everything. Maybe I'm just jealous and ranting, but it really hurts me when I reflect on the fact that literal Instagram influencers earn figures which were multiple times my income, despite the fact that they aren't helping society in any tangible way.

African countries can not now buy arms from Russia. But India has a joint venture with Russia to make AK 203 assault rifle. We make for our use and also export. Not to exploit the absence of Russian arms in global market we have agreed to supply AK 203 to african nations! It is from us, not from Russia, so they have no problem. We got an order of 1,67,000 rifles ! Make in India rocks! Now to meet our domestic demand we buy 73000 rifles, ZIG 716 from the US. Whats wrong?

Good point that support for Indian military must support local but part of trade with allies tends to include arms sales, it's the cost of doing business across borders. India's growing global influence will reap rewards in the defense sector. Give it time & just continue developing , inventing , look at Israel a small country that invested in the sector along with tech & now allied nations all use some Israeli hardware or software in defense. India doesn't have a big bro like Israel has with USA, but it's friendly with Israel & that's a gap in.

Chaye wala hv a brilliant strategy. He P.M Modi hv developed armament sector at a large scale by providing licenses to private sector to develop armaments for internal use and exports as well. As for imports of armaments is concerned he is importing technology for research and development by his country engineers so the same can b developed with some technological advancements under made in India stamp. Same he has the simple approach in all other sectors from semi conductors to building road infrastructure. Indian companies do JVs under Modis policy of providing opportunities for doing ease of business with the foreign counterparts in such a way private companies raise money with IPOs, import technology with manufacturing facility in India the foreign partner gets his share and Indian public hv best tech at the most affordable rates. Afterwarss, they generate FX by exporting these products. Mr. Modi and his team wins this over their neighbouring Pakistan, Bangladesh and Siri lanka and especially from Pakistan wher armament business is only limited to military personnel. And facing many other problems such as Road cess controls by an foundation and afterwards repayment of loans which were secured to build these roads and tunnels, is being done cash is being generated by further taxing the public. Since anti Indian forces looms large at our vicinity, India must have a strong leader like Narendra Modi who already vanquished the arrogance of Mohammad Muizzu. Sri lanka’s new left leaning president can’t do much since China made it bankrupt with its debt and it must sell its tea. About Bangladesh , I can see they already started bowing down by exporting hilsa and already hold bilateral ministers meeting. Some time and effort is necessary to quash this new govt as well which is already burdened with broken economy , tumultuous law and order. I don’t expect Rahul Gandhi has ability and intelligence to tackle these altogether. You would hate me saying this but It's true Modi's acumen is superior to Rahul. Rahul would have failed terribly tackling three hostile lands together.
