Burnout main reasons are: 1. Toxic Boss 2. Overload of work 3. Pay parity 4. Unproductive meetings 5. Paying less internal increments and offering higher pay for replaced recruits 6. Traffic and commute issues to cover field jobs

After a burnout, I found that I can't carry on; so I dropped my graduation there inspite of being a topper of my city. And decided to take a fresh start after a gap of one year. It helped me in understanding my area of interest and increase my productivity.

Bravo. Here n the US its become even tougher since the cost to maintain family including child care is unmanageable along with long hours and daily commute. The expectations have become unrealistic and caused so much damage while a high percentage of employees do not wish to complain for fear of retaliation and with higher chances of similar employment in other states, it makes those who can't relocate or don't wish to suffer more. Thanks for bringing up this topic.

Exactly, I was promoted to operations manager in a huge multinational company in my mid-20s and I was working nights and also on-call 24x7. I was burned out due to lack of sleep. I thought that was the end of my career. But I found another job that pays better, no on-call and regular working hours. And my old company replaced my role with 4 people after I left.

Very recently Narayan Murthy Sir in an interview made a point of working 70 hrs a week, CEO of OLA Bhavish Agrawal Sir supported this idea. Mam you should interview Murthy Sir and Agrawal sir, and ask them about these issues and their solutions to these issues that employees face in there daily lives.

Thank you for this news. I’m experiencing burn out and took a medical leave from Investment Banking. I worked over 2 decades in this industry. Now the company I was employed over a decade laid me off. It shows that my dedication and sacrifice meant nothing more than a headcount. We are easily replaceable. Meanwhile, I was a “valuable asset” when I was able to perform at my highest and longest…

Burnout is not caused by exhaustion but because of under appreciation. Exhaustion is a very real but a completely different issue. People conflate the two like in this video. Exhaustion is a medical issue and burnout is not. That is how you differentiate between the two.

This needs to be talked about open...companies talk about it and yet reality is the complete opposite. There should be assessment for anyone taking on a manager's role cause most of them don't know how to deal with their subordinates. Eventually it comes down to your own boundaries and the consequences you are willing to accept.

It's true story. Burnout is more in India than you can expect. As kids, we were influenced by a certain type of cultural lifestyle. And watching it break apart, it feels like what am I supposed to do now? I am more concerned that, compared to the 20years back, i really don't know what to do next. I was from a conservative family and watching the society in a new format (liberal mindset), gives me a feeling of a culture extinction. And adding to that, i am supposed to work at my job and continue to believe that this job will secure my future. But how? I simply do not think it is going to be easy. The old ways of life are gone, sentiments within the family are volatile and unstable and eroding,l. I am pretty sure that the "civilized" society is in the verge of breaking all the ethics of life. Imagine the ship of Theseus. Take away every aspect of lifestyle from the life of a human being and just replace it with a modern mindset and modern society. What's the use of money anyways? (When the society is no longer the same thing and you cannot relate to it anymore)

I'm burnt out to the max. Mainly bad work demands, bad boundaries that benefits employer but to my detriment. Come Friday night at 6pm I don't answer any work calls or work colleagues who want to talk and discuss work, through to Monday morning. On my weekends I no longer spend time with friends from work, bar 2 good friends where we have made a pact - no work talk, we keep each other in check. For those two days I have reclaimed them finaly, I don't want to know about work, it's my time, family time, friend time. It has made me stress less and burnout less. I just need to move it to 5pm during weekdays. You work back late, don't get paid for that. It's going to stop one step at a time, good luck everyone

I think people get burnt out from being forced to do things that they hate in order to sustain what they perceive as a good standard of living. If people would be content with less they could spend more time discovering their passion and figure out how to monetize it and then they would never get burnt out again.

The traffic situation is so bad in Indian cities every employee who even reaches office should be given an award. So much corruption in the government, the public servants, road contractors and all these people. Middle class just keeps on working and working. My dad used to work exactly till 5:30 and came home by 7, no computer, no work from home, no mobile, he retired in 2007. And now? Even at 12 midnight you can get a call from your boss and be expected to login and check some issue. Fck this shit. On top of that woman, man, even pets are working, who takes care of the home? I one. Is this what advancement for humans look like? Do people even have time for music, games, picnics, etc etc? And for what? Whatever money you earn is taken by the hospitals or education of children or by women during divorce. See what is happening in China.. youth is giving up.
