The hook you used on the spot head is a Kahle hook. You generally find them on fluke rigs. The thing with the plastic sleeve that you attached the 3 oz. sinker to, is a fish finder rig.

When using the softer / chunks of bait, I like to stick a piece of bloodworm on after it. Keeps the little stuff from shaking it off the hook and adds another bit of scent to the water! Tight lines!

@18:55 "They are not sharks technically" Dog fish are sharks, same family. Also wouldn't say they are entirely harmless either, they have venomous spines that can pack a good sting.

just got a diawa 2500 bg combo with a medium/light inshore rod 8lb to 15lb mono or up to 20lb braided. Do you guys think this would be a good striper rod. I like to use light swimbaits or topwater spooks. I figured i would get a good fight on a lighter rod. Or should i return it and get a medium heavy diawa bg combo?

Where do you find the ocean... with no waves? I wanna try true saltwater fishing, but gotta look for holes, gutters, channels, waves not breaking and all that stuff... I just see waves upon waves where i am... So i do inshore in rivers towards brackish water 😅😅😅 Need 10foot minimum rod here, so everyone says... to get out there in the ocean
