I liked the LED court. They could do some cool stuff with that like making shots worth more from spots that light up on the court or something in the actual game. What the league really needs to do is just put more value on the defensive side of the game. Bring back hand checking or something. Since most of the game is played on the perimeter get rid of defensive 3 seconds… something! Defense is majority effort and once the league starts valuing defense again we might also start nominating more players that put in that effort

Defensive 3 sec rule going away would’ve changed things a lot back in the day but now since so much of the game is played outside in rather than inside out like it used to be I actually don’t think it would change much. Move the 3pt line further back. The risk of the 3pt is no longer as risky to be in the 80’s, early 90s or early 2000’s. The NBA is averaging nearly 36 3pt attempts a game, and the highest 3-pt% makes at .367. Make it 25’. Put the risk back in the 3pt shot.

The best part of allstar weekend for me was trying to explain to my wife that Nikola Jokic is considered by most the best player in the league today😂! For evidence I offered all of the accolades he’s garnered which she refuted with what he looked like on the court on Sunday😂😂😂😂. I told her he is virtually unstoppable on offense and she said how!!! He can’t even run or jump😂. I had no further defense and had to rest my case. I then mentioned that Luka Doncic is probably the 5th best player in the league today and she pretty much doubted everything I’ve ever told her about basketball😂😂😂😂. Way to go NBA!!!

As a fan of the nba since middle school, I don’t understand the obsession with a Literal “exhibition” game during the break for the players. And also I’m surprised Brou, Wildes, or Nick didn’t touch on if you ramp up intensity for a exhibition game that is supposed to just glorify and reward the efforts of the players in the first half of the season, what happens when someone gets hurt trying to play hard in this meaningless game???

No gimmicks needed. The NBA doesn't need any gimmicks to improve the ASG's competition level. All the league needs is to do is [to further] capture the desires/imaginations of the fans. Let's not forget that the *NBA All-Star Week* is still the best 'all-star week' in all of sports. And it's become that due to: (a) the nature of the sport; and (b) the athletes that compete in it. No gimmicks needed.

the reason the IST money was a driving factor was because star players were trying to get guys 10-15 on the roster a substantial amount of money, theres guys on the Lakers whos income doubled because of that. money that only goes to all stars is only motivating the 1-2 guys each year that are still on rookie deals

dude, 100%. if you're on a max contract, the IST money is a drop in the bucket for you. but that's a big deal for the two way players, rookies and support players on a vet minimum. the stars play hard for them because they need the bench to reciprocate down the season stretch.

Broussard's criticism of the home court advantage didn't make sense, because both teams have players that are going to be in the playoffs. I would definitely play harder if I knew that winning guaranteed my conference home court in the finals.

I like the all or nothing with the money and I like USA vs World but the EASIEST fix is to do a 1 v 1 tournament with the winner getting a special title AND a UFC/WWE style belt that they have to give up to the next winner. So you get to hold it for a year and hopefully get to defend the belt the next year

Wonder what a scoring zone (distance cap) would look like. Too far back you can't score. Forces players into a defendable zone while still allowing for the 3pt shot.

The FIX: I think a 3 on 3 tournament for All-Star weekend would be the bomb! Add crazy 4-point plays etc. Example: Steph, Lebron, and Durant against Murray, Luka, and Booker. Now, this would be great! More players would be motivated and the build-up would be a killer AD campaign. Go NBA!

for the all star game, winning team members will get 5 coach's challenge back to their team, which can be used at any time including the playoffs. change the 3 point reward for points inside the paint, 2 pts for anything inside the 3 point line, and 1 point for anything outside the 3 point line(effectively killing the reward for deep shots). Also, every 2 steals/blocks that leads to a turnover removes a point from the other teams score.

I admit to being a fan of the Warriors' run, but, the 3 point line "experiment" has gone full circle, has been abused and is ruining the game. Every play is either a 3 point attempt or wide open layup. It's time to make scoring harder. It's time to eliminate the 3 point line.

The real reason is because every player in today's nba are friends. They don't want to go too hard at their friends in the all star game. Everybody is hanging out enjoying the weekend together having fun. It's not real competition
