What's really interesting is going back to the first season, watching the first four or five episodes, you can actually see Sean and his team get stuff wrong... Incomplete research, closed questions that don't invite elaboration, even him competing with the guests and belittling them a tiny bit around their reactions to the sauce... Then you see them learn, evolve and become the best 121 interview format out there in my opinion. I really appreciated seeing how they learnt, grew and adapted.

Man this is just such an insanely good concept for a show. I’ve been saying this for years, but it keeps being relevant: celebrities are trained to say the right things at the right times, but the wings kind of circumvent that and end up giving you so much more of an honest interview than you’d usually get. And of course that’s in addition to Sean being just a brilliant interviewer. I’ve so loved watching this show grow from like…Philip Defranco to Chris Hemsworth. It’s crazy! Though I’m a member of the Defranco Nation, so that’ll probably always be my favorite episode lol

What's even greater to me is his trauma response, when he gets an iron clad guest he keeps lock step with them. I have to assume when a guest caves and goes for the relief, he has to also on a small scale be semi relieved as well lol.

You can literally watch the progression of the interview and how what they created makes for the best interview. The guest is always reserved and somewhat generic in their answers but then the magic happens halfway through and their real personality comes out and it is so much more entertaining to watch.
