Love the wrasse fishing slippy...i fished that spot 15 years ago and it was the finest wrasse spot I've ever had the fortune to fish..there used to be a big black male wrasse with large blue spots that lived there among all the females...it was just under 6lb then when i caught it and released if its still around and hopefully it is ...a monster it will be now...nice one bud!

My favourite Wrasse setup was always something like a 4” Ring Hammer Shad on a weedless head pitched onto the rocks, through gulleys or down the rock face. Guess the ned rig works so well because of the vertical presentation. With the float, try dropping it down the side, closer to the rocks and less work for your shoulder. Lovely bit of fishing. Cheers
@SlippyLimpets2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's the theory with the Ned, and with a cut down worm it seems lethal. Going to try them for the Bass with a craw or shrimp presentation, pretty sure they'll work. Thanks for the tip with the float👍

Bit off topic but what cold weather clothing do you use?
@SlippyLimpets2 жыл бұрын
Getting prepped for the winter? I tend to use my old mountaineering kit- goretex jacket, synthetic insulated jacket and merino wool base layer top and bottoms. Only problem with the jackets is they have metal zips and need washing down after each session, they disintegrate if not.
@richardjones28112 жыл бұрын
@@SlippyLimpets Indeed, got to think ahead and Winter isn' too far away now 🙄 In regards to Gore-Tex I've had nothing but problems with it. Fine for a year then it starts leaking. They all do eventually. Just wish this day and age a better material can be made.
@SlippyLimpets2 жыл бұрын
@@richardjones2811I work in the outdoor industry so have a lot experience in this area. Goretex needs to be cleaned and re-proofed each year. If it's dirty, then water doesn't bead off the surface material and it won't breathe so feels like it's leaking. The other alternative is Paramo gear, it works differently to GtX, because it doesn't rely on diffusion to breath, and is very reliable. Just a bit heavier and warmer than GTX and does need washing frequently.
@richardjones28112 жыл бұрын
@@SlippyLimpets Very interesting regarding the goretex but believe me it will leak eventually. I have gone through 2 jackets in about 6 years. The membrane splits and allows the moisture through. The stitching is also prone to allowing water through, that's its achilles heel.
@SlippyLimpets2 жыл бұрын
I've not had any bother with my Outdoor Research jacket, 9 years in and still going strong. Like I said, the only thing is the zip pull is corroding. Could be a brand thing rather than a problem with the GTX?
