Great species profile! I only have experience with the related panda garra, but much of this is true for those, too, including a well matured tank that can provide enough biofilm for them. I've known about how red garra are kept starving in spas for a while, but I hadn't even thought of them being stepped on 😥. Great of you and *thank* *you* for bringing more awareness to this! Pumice stones are great for feet and psoriasis, though mine is not the fancy husband-automated model 😂😋. Really great video Sandra and Chris, I hope you both have a fantastic weekend! 👍👍

Hi Sandra, the fish profile you made on the Garra is really interesting! The swimming of these fish is unmistakable! I tried the fish pedicure with these fish when I lived in Thailand, I have videos of me doing this treatment and for those who suffer from ticklishness it can be fun to see people's reactions. At the end of the video I saw a human Garra at work that I know well. Lol Have a nice weekend Chris and Sandra

Thanks for watching and coming. I do appreciate it and means a lot to me. They are a interesting fish for sure. I really like them. I actually had more but I decided to move three mid-size ones into a tank where had four larger ones. This tank was not covered as as I've never had a problem. The four larger ones all jumped out the same night. I was heartbroken to say the least. The three new ones were quite content and are still in that tank. As far as seeing these fish at stores, it's really infrequent and I usually try to grab some when I see them. Thanks again for watching. You have the best of New year's!

I am with you on that one. Yeah hepatitis would be spread around like crazy, especially in the warm water. Open cuts and fish moving the disease from one to another
@corynnmarie9 ай бұрын
Would you by chance know why a doctor fish would go pale/lose its scale pigmentation all of a sudden (within a day or two timeframe) and then pass away? We just had one pass yesterday and we have had them for a little over 6 months and they have been thriving. But we have another one seeming to show signs of the same things happening and we can’t seem to find any information 😞
@stubbsaquatics60809 ай бұрын
How are the other fish doing? Have you done water changes? I have never had that happen. I have lost a few because they climbed out .. I don't think they jumped What are they eating?
@corynnmarie8 ай бұрын
@@stubbsaquatics6080 so the other one that was showing signs seems fine now. And my boyfriend is the one who primarily handles the tanks, and he does water changes every 1 to 2 weeks and checks the water parameters regularly. And we also have two plecos, a good amount of guppies, shrimp, and some snails in the tank, which they all seem to be doing fine. And we feed tropical granules (the typical guppy type foods you see in stores), bottom feeder sinking wafers, and also a little bit of frozen brine shrimp at least once or twice a week for some extra protein. But, initial thought now is maybe that doctor fish was just old and maybe passed of old age since we don’t know how old it was when we got it.
@stubbsaquatics60808 ай бұрын
@@corynnmarie thanks for letting me know How big is it? They grow up to be about 6 inches. Sometimes they don't get along with plecos as they compete for food although I have some in with bristlenose. Fish can get sick like anything else. If the other ones are fine I would just do a few water changes and monitor. Obviously it didn't starve. They do love eating cucumber, zucchini and nibbling the slime off driftwood They need that periodically
@corynnmarie8 ай бұрын
@@stubbsaquatics6080 all of the ones we have are roughly the same size, but pretty sure they are all pretty much full grown, they all look like they are probably between 5-6in! And we have a small clown pleco and a columbian zebra, but they only really seem to sometimes fight over the bottom wafers but we typically monitor all of them when we do the wafers which we do every other day to avoid over feeding. But they definitely get plenty of food! Haha. And yeah, I was worried about sickness, but all the other fish seem to be doing perfectly fine. We have done zucchini in the past but they didn’t seem to eat too much of it surprisingly lol, but will probably try again soon! And we have a good amount of wood in the tank as well 😊 so, we are hoping that the doctor fish who passed was just at the end of its life since everyone else in tank seems to be thriving. Thank you so much for responding and all the tips!!😁 my boyfriend did a good water change yesterday as well!

@stubbsaquatics6080 Жыл бұрын
I can guarantee you my feet didn't go into this video. Yeah I would never put my feet in one of those tubs and not to mention how much disease those poor fish could spread around. I don't understand. Yes, we all like fish the nibble at her hands while we're feeding them, but those are our own not shared by a multitude of people
@havocthehorror9 ай бұрын
I'm not sure the human related dietary information is accurate. I work at a place where people can stick hands into a tank with them (after washing their hands) and they'll eat the dead skin, I also know that they are not starved as I actively see them get fed by workers in a different department than me.
@stubbsaquatics60809 ай бұрын
