Another great video Rich, nice work. I wanted to point out that I thought it was very cool of you, after tying on 1 of your lures, you snipped the extra into your bag, instead of just letting it drop into the water. Every little bit helps keep our oceans clean.

If you don't have one, get a lightning app. I have one that gives me notice when it strikes within 10 miles, so I can find cover. Yours didn't look like an electrical storm, but I've been in too many bad situations to take any more chances. I've definitely spent my lightning luck.

Thanks for doing a wade fishing video. Loved wading the mud flats of Nassau sound near Jacksonville Fla in the 1980s. Nothing like stalking a tailing redfish or hauling in a doormat flounder in knee deep water. To my essential gear I'd add a bait bucket on a 12' stringer and carry a 4' cast net for mullet in a shotgun shell pouch. That long stringer kept my catch away from my legs because of the occasional shark coming in on a high tide. Great memories!

Any recommendations on a length for wade fishing? I am torn between getting a 7 ft or 7’6.. I like the added length for distance casting when wading but the additional length makes working artificials a little more difficult / fatiguing.. what do you think? Thanks

Hey rich I have a question about fishing for stripers since the season is right around the corner. So I fish off a pier by my house I like in NYC maybe 2 miles after the verrazano is the pier I fish off of and it is said that there is stripers under the pier how would you fish for them? I would think bunker for bait but do you have an exact setup I should use? I've never caught one and I've been fishing there for almost a year in seasons. Any advice?

I once got caught in a bad storm wading the flats about a mile out in Texas. We were hammering big reds on topwaters and a huge storm snuck up behind us. The rain turned into golf ball sized hail. Broke my rod my pinky finger had knots all over my head and my whole body had bruises. In 2 feet of water we had nowhere to go. I literally thought i was gonna die. Scary stuff. Never turn your back on mother nature.

From what I gather, yes. But the restrictions where he lives are a bit much to keep them. You have to have a separate permit to keep them, they are closed season at least 6 months of the year, and you can only keep 1 between 28 and 32 inches. Not much of a spread there.
