Love to see you fly fishing! I exclusively fly fish but this is such a great channel idc it’s mostly conventional fishing! I would recommend using a perfection loop to connect the leader to fly line, that way you don’t have to cut fly line off when you want to change your leader.

Thanks so much for picking up the fly rod and going after Snook. I'll be in Florida in May and I'm definitely going to give it a try. It will be a great change from trout here in the west.

Great to see the fly out there. Very cool with the drone. FYI maybe rather than albright directly to the fly line, go with 20lb line to fly line witha nail knot to end of fly line, Then put a perfection loop at end of 20lb line. Perfection loop to loop for the leader.

love the content and bringing in the fly rod now! I would like to mention setting the hook on the fly, I hear it is better to STRIP HARD to set the hook instead of what you regularly do to set the hook on regular rods since they bend to much...

Awesome man! You found out another good stream trout fishing trick to adspt - resting the pool. In clear water, after you hookup and spook all the others, leave that pool completely alone for 20 minutes or so. You'll often find that the fish forgot about all the ruckus. If one keeps casting right after a hookup.they run they risk of putting the fish off for the rest of the day/tide. Love the shoreline and small craft stuff you do. Your video production shows more proficiency as time goes on as well !

I always enjoy your videos. I like seeing both spin and fly. Would like to see more fly action. Top notch gear. I have many Sage rods. Not familiar with islander reel but at that price point should be good. Consider changing fly reel handle to left hand crank. I recomend fly rod tip down inline with fly when stripping. Lift set not from the side initially because you are out of position. To get line off fly reel quickly spread both arms wide to pull line off real quickly. Slap reel on lest side to take up line rapidly ie Jose Wejebe (RIP). Keep up the good work!

Heck yeah, that was sick man! Big trout, too. Good stuff as always, keep it up. Your videos motivate me to film better and better content, too, and I always learn something new watching you. Cool video. I watched you make the short casts off the rocks and it looks like the line isn't an ideal match for the rod. You needed to make more than a few false casts to get the line out. A line with a shorter, heavier taper would help quite a bit for a short cast. I'd look for a tri-color line from RIO or SA as the color changes will show you the optimal load point. Ideally, all you'd need is one false cast to shoot 40' - 50' of line.

Try some more aggressive jerk-strip retrieves to wake up their hunter instinct next time they become passive after seeing the fly several times.

U should try tying, so many videos to learn from, and when u get the techniques down, u can custamize ur baits to whatever your fishing for and whatever they are feeding on.
