A card i think it is worth to try in this deck is exodius. Because he is a pseudo avarice to recicle your dupes and his eff when attacks can make you access any monster you want. Do you have subs in hand? Summon exodius, attack and send dandy, M2 summon 4 frogs. Needs fishborg? Exodius can send it

I think I played against the guy who went top 8 with this at the time wizard events. It really felt like I’d walked into the wrong format somehow, he properly just rolled over me (I was playing pure fairies) Certainly something I hadn’t seen anywhere else

Mother grizzly is really cool because it fixes the inconsistent access to fishborg blaster, I was messing about with that when I was playing the power tool mega combo version and it always felt a bit underwhelming when i didn't see fishborg vs when i did. Another card that can give more access to fishborg and substitoad like that is damage condenser, you have access to your combo most of the time that way.

It's really cool that you mentioned Damage Condenser since that was actually a card me and Allisdair have a lot of experience with in frog decks, and was actually a 3 of in the list until a week before. Being able to get sub, Fishborg, dandy and even grizzly and flipp flop in some scenarios is really good - you can also fetch side cards like consecrated light and GB hunter too.

Ultimately what it came down to was that it gets worse as people know about it. Also, it's not great against things like ryko as you can't set it before or after they set a ryko. As for the tadpoles you really don't need it. The deck achieves the extra summons through the +1 cards (salvage, foolish, avarice and dandy). Also it's just another brick for the deck that we can avoid playing

it's better at dupe locking than all the other frog decks, so it has inherent defense there, but if you break through then yes it is way less defensive

I'm curious about why no tadpole with 3 des frogs, there are lots of cool lines where you can get extra damage like substitoad summon swap, send tadpole, bounce to get an extra summon, discard swap for fishborg, tribute for des frog and summon another

In this scenario tributing the swap frog for a des frog, then pitching the des frog in hand for Fishborg and tributing that off for another des frog is functionally the same damage with the same amount of cards used, just you don’t need to play tadpole in the deck

@allisdairbowman that makes sense yeah, I really liked tadpole when I tried similar frog lists in tengu plant where its got a few extra cards. But among the extra cards are rank 5s so there's way more incentive to summon 2 des frogs at the same time there too, and no substitoad to do it the way you said

@@imnerdpodcast thx, i got it, but in this deck are no monarchs, played it the whole day, you need at least 3 perfect cards in hand to otk and still has problems for backrow, its never tear 1 and is very vulnerable against aggro decks, the only control line is flipp flop frog and dupe block, wich is not impossible to beat when you have much time against this deck, think its clearly over hyped and not strong, but fun to play and learn synchro mechanics
