awesome looking part 103! I would not state 'no training required' if you have never flown, you better get some training and part 103 states that you must follow NOTAMs. If you have zero training you will not know what those are and even less where to find them. And if you have to know NOTAMs you will need to know air space. You are to stay away from other air traffic so you need to know what other air traffic typically does. So you better get some training. Edit, glad you mentioned to get some training at the end.

I guess we are coming full circle. Back in the 1930s some of the early light aircraft had a 35 hp engine and it flew. It was a single place as well. The technology is better and lighter so the airplane performs better.

Have always loved this plane. Wonder with that engine and my weight would I still be legal part 103.
@429thunderjet22 жыл бұрын
I think it's only the weight of the aircraft itself isn't it?
@paulheitkemper15592 жыл бұрын
@@429thunderjet2 no, dry weight of the airplane and powerplant, minus floats and emergency gear like a ballistic chute.

Single piece composite is ultimately much simpler

Very interesting, although I've known about Fisher a long time. But I am getting more & more interested in part 103 enclosed aircraft, although I don't mind metal fab and welding either.

@Airstrip Kid sure, the badlands is tube & fabric, formally the kitfox lite, and then there is the Merlin lite, its all aluminum. And they all look and fly like conventional airplanes. There may be a couple others like these tractor high wing enclosed ultralight designs I think.

I have several questions. 1) Are these engines multi fuel or just av gas? 2) I know they can, by law, go only so high, so fast, but how far are they allowed to fly. Can these planes keep going from airport to airport.
@ultralightnews2 жыл бұрын
They run an car fuel, they are limited to 5 gallons of fuel, and can travel about 55 mph hour, using between 2 and 3 gallons per hour, so they are limited to fuel stops every 100 miles or so.

Don't expect to receive a Fisher plane kit like this nowadays this was the original Factory when it was in Ohio if you buy a Fisher plane now you will have to fabricate almost all of the parts nothing will come pre-shaped like this it is extremely different from the original owners how you receive your plane kit you have to know a great deal of mechanical knowledge and machinist experience engineering experience I'll come and hand building your plane because it's very difficult it's not easy some people say if you could build an RC plane that you can build a Fisher plane not true I recommend you purchasing the sport plane builder book by books the whole set by Tony bingles b i n g e l i s he has a lot of information that will be needed building your plane so you don't get frustrated and want to throw in the towel I also recommend EAA aircraft building techniques how to series on wood and it helps tremendously with wooden airplanes I also recommend all of the EAA home builders DVDs they will help you tremendously when I built my plane
