Fisher & Paykel Biggest CPAP Mistake since Philips Respironics Recall & ResMed AirFit Masks?!?

I paid $1000 for a F&P Sleepstyle when I stopped using my Philips CPAP when the recall was ordered. I had read wonderful reviews from an Australian CPAP reviews website. I had already used F&P masks for years with great success. SADLY I had to return my F&P Sleepstyle machine through the online provider 2 times and the 3rd time the machine failed it was after the 2 year warrenty. When it worked it was the best CPAP experience I have ever had (user since 2004.) I still use F&P masks, but now have a Resmed machine supplied with Medicare coverage.

Sad this is happening with the Fisher and Packel is discontinuing their Cpap machines. I was going to purchase one in two weeks after my sleep study. I’ve been using Resmed and wanted to switch. Thank you for putting this out for everyone.

It is sad they won’t compete with ResMed. It would be a battle of the ages watching them head to head.

@@USAMedicalSupply agree 100%, our selection isn’t good right, it’s beginning to look like Resmed is getting to be the main company that insurance will cover. It’s not good when one company has the corner on the market either, it gives that company the ability to over charge. I could be seeing this wrong so correct me if I am, I’m not familiar with any other brands. One made in Germany but not so,d in the states.

Monopolies form out of situations like this, and it only screws the consumer. I agree, and I hope that doesn’t happen.

When was the ResMed masks recalled and why? I have a few of the f20s and I really like them I also use the f&p simplus another good mask I use it with my favorite CPAP machine, the dreamstation one

Love my f&p evocative full face! I’d have to see months of feedback before I’d move over to f40, although the filtered exhalation ports sounds like a win, win.

So does this mean that the Sleepstyle Plus will not be sold in North America either? F&P will only be selling it in Australia and New Zealand? And, to answer your question, I use an Eson 2 with my Airsense 11.

I’m told they will not be carrying machines. They are focusing on masks and high flow humidification devices. Thanks for sharing.

Your body already depends and needs it if you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. It’s not a drug, it’s pressurized air.

That was bound to happen, since they only make one machine, not even any bi-level. They're mainly catering for hospitals with their masks and humidifiers. I suspect they will cease making machines altogether and exit the market globally. Such a shame though, they'll leave the market to Resmed and all the Chinese brands. Philips is meant to be returning but they will have a huge battle to win back the trust that's been totally shattered.

@@USAMedicalSupply I might have spoken too soon about Philips, since it looks like they too are exiting the market with many of their respiratory products. So far they're only left with DS1 & DS2 machines and masks. They're exiting from diagnosis/titration, the hospital (Trilogy and V60) ventilators, oxygen concentrators and the DS Go is axed by the looks of it.

I recently saw that notification. When ResMed has over 6000 patents alone, the barriers to entry into this industry are very difficult. Just ask 3B Medical now React Health.

I thought the sleepstyle was an excellent machine until mine died after 2000 hours and I was left hanging.

I remember that Steve. Had one other one that happened to but all others are still out there over the past 3-4 years we sold them.
