Very informative. Is there a way to stop moisture build up in the mask? I have the humidity down to 0. Does that turn off the hose heating?

How long is the water chamber hinge going to last, had hardware container with that kind of hinge and it cracks in no time.

Thank you very much Nick for this series. I have used the Icon successfully for years and have just bought the Sleepstyle. I live in very dusty part of the country. The filters get red/black in a week or two sometimes. They are expensive and so I have been cutting my own filters from vacuum cleaner filter. Theoretically, could there be a problem with this? The old machine worked great! Thank you. Di

Hi Dianne, theoretically yes because if the filter material is too dense then it will put the motor under more stress as it will be harder for it to bring in the air from the inlet and if it's not dense enough then it will allow dust in which will make the machine run noisy. I know they're expensive but the sleep style ones are washable from memory and a 6 pack should last you a whole year. Cheers Nick

After Philips recall I used savings to purchase this machine. After just 4 days my normal life was restored, best CPAP usage in 17 years. Sadly the humidifier stopped heating just 5 days ago and trying to get help from the online supplier has been more than a challenge. I contacted F&P in the US with more success. I love this machine for so may reasons, but to have a malfunction in less than one month of responsible (followed all the protocols) usage makes me concerned. I hope I can get repair or a new machine without losing daily access. Has anyone else had a problem with the heating feature. Also shout out to all the important work Nick is doing to make suppliers responsible and educate subscribers. The best example of the information that the internet can provide.

Hi Doris, i'm sorry to hear you have had a few troubles. It's certainly not a common thing however i have heard of a few people having issues in the past with the humidifier. Being so new i would hope that it would be a straight up replacement and i would push for that. I would not settle for repair. Let me know how you go :-). Thanks for your kind words of support too. Hi there. Yes, I also had issues and after exhausting all suggestions my machine was replaced. Still the heating tube doesn't work well and still the element is hot 12 hrs later! But I gave up. My biggest issue is getting the machine to hook up to Bluetooth! Nightmare!

@@tamaramendonca6516 Just to update my Fisher & Paykel experience (I don't use the Bluetooth feature) I gave up dealing with the retailer who sold me the machine and contacted F&P home office in California. I was immediately given a case number. They intervened with the retailer and shipped a new Sleepstyle machine to the head office of the retailer. The retailer never contacted me or shipped the replacement. In the meantime I experimented with the settings for the humidification and an increase to level 3 or 4 triggered proper heating of the hose and warming of the humidification chamber. I contacted F&P and cancelled the replacement. I have a working, reliable, and easy to use CPAP from a company that hasn't been sued by the DOJ. I wish you success in finding solutions to your problems with the F&P unit.

Just a question - Do I always press start/stop button to turn on or is there a feature like the Phillips that automatically turns on when mask it breathed through? also regarding the humidifier, are you saying I can leave in there without filling up with water? Appreciate it
