Fisher's Exact Test pvalue | Excel | R Program | Statistics

In this video, I am explaining how to compute p-value for Fisher's Exact Test in Microsoft Excel 2019 and then the answer is compared in R program. In the given example, after computation of p-value, if the p-value less than alpha then we reject the null hypothesis.

How would one approach this if the contingency table is for eg. 2x12?

Note: In the above example, hypergeometric probabilities can only be added for P-value computation if the hypergeometric probabilities of different combinations is less than the the hypergeometric probability of original Reference set. In the given example, we didn't came upto such situation where the hypergeometric probability of combinations is more than the probability of actual data.

Hi mam you are doing great job.. can you please tell me how I will know that which test I should run on my data, I have 63 samples data 32 are patients while 31 are control..the question is can I run fisher exact test on my data?

Y u r used sample as 9 when u r calculating hypergeometric probability ?

Sample_s is just a notation for number of successes in the sample in hypergeometric function.

If i use number of Successes as 7 or 11 or 13, it gives me the same P value?@@modernstatistics165

Yes, the pvalue will remain same but in that case, hypergeometric probability of other combinations can only be added to the pvalue computation only if it is less than the hypergeometric probability of original reference set. Here I have assumed, male smoker as my sample success.
