Biggest problem w this knot is that when wearing joggers w metal/plastic aglets around the holes, the adjustment is limited to when the knots are together to where the aglets stop the knots from going into the waistline. That's very little adjustment

don't do this! instead, just use a hair tie or a small rubber band and tie both strings real tight. trust me, this is the best method.

Don't use this knot to tie your pants, it can't hold your pants and it's very difficult to untie the knot!

This knot can most definitely hold your pants it's strong enough to be used in climbing and boating 😂 However I wouldn't use it to tie pants as like you said it is difficult to untie. It's basically two overhand knots that are the worst to untie once they bind together.
