I wouldn't fish in a kayak south of pigeon point. It's really close to Ana Nuevo and that's pretty much shark territory. Also you need a wetsuit if you go out. Even during the summer, the water can be really cold in Norcal. I kayak fished for a number of years and it's pretty much known in the kayak fishing community that you only have about 3 min to get back on the kayak if you were to fall off without a wetsuit on. You'll get numb after that and even though you won't feel much, you won't be able to go back on. Rule of thumb, if you go kayak fishing in the ocean then always go with a buddy and have a radio and wetsuit on (along with a pfd). Oh yeah, also get a fishfinder with GPS.

Not really. Even with a fishfinder doesn't mean you're going to catch fish definitively. Yes, you do have a better chance than going in without one but this way you can discover structure and map the hot spots.

Anyone worrying about his use of butter needs to educate themselves on what are actually healthy fats...hint...they aren't what the FDA says they are...BUTTER is good for you people...margerine is basically poison and so is vegetable and canola oil. I eat at least a half a stick of butter a day and it's actually lowered my LDL and raised my HDL. Butter and avocado have amazing health benefits. Keep on fishin' and cooking with butter! :)
