Have you ever tried Gummy Worms? Even if the fish don't want them, you can eat the leftover bait. Also, if you lose them, you aren't polluting the lakes, streams, trees, wires as they eventually dissolve in water. Gummy bears work on panfish too.

Yea he is insanely good with guessing what fish he has on the line. Takes lots of experience to know how each species feels on the end of the line. Its impressive. In my area, a 10-12" smallmouth is close to two years old. Once they hit 12 it can take 1 year per inch of growth.

That's the tail race that's my neck of the woods. You can catch just about anything there. End of September I occasionally catch flathead on crankbaits at that rock point on the east side

I caught an almost 5 pound Largie on a lipless one time and the bastard almost hooked me a half dozen times. That bastard just wouldn't calm down. He poked me a bunch, but my cat-like reflexes kept me from getting stuck through. I had to pin it to the ground with almost everything I had to control it long enough to get the trebles out. I almost refuse to throw a treble bait anymore if I don't have my pliers

I once hooked my finger and went to local hospital, hook went under the tendon and no way to push it trough to cut barbed part of that hook, and couldnt force it back. And it wasn´t a fack up on releasing a fish, I just had lure hanging on a line, dipped my hand to get another lure and wind threw the lure on my line to direction of my downward moving hard.
