You've got a lot to learn man. Go easy on the fish.

hey bro, not tryna hate on ya here but when your releasing trout its important to make sure you handle them properly to ensure the best chance that the fish survives, I use to be like this as well, the bros trout fix nz and trippin on trout have both made videos on it

Thanks mate. Appreciate any advice on safe releasing and proper handling. I have since changed the way I release now. If I'm releasing the fish I try leave it in the water and barely handle it at all now. Will check out the vids though too. Thank bro👍🏼

The last position, where there were a lot of trout, you needed a fly rod to catch them.

Id be careful dropping your spots man. You'll get fished out of your local before you know it.

Bro your lucky there weren’t any fish and games officers down at waiteti stream that day as it fly only, and the fine is pretty fucken big and they sometimes take your stuff.

Waiteti is fly and spinner fishing from December 1st to June 30th above Hamurana rd. I've got all the info bro.

Oh i thought i read a thing online saying fly only from the bridge in ngo and why is there fly only signs everywhere upstream, but anyway don't really give a fuck just thought I'd let you know.

And what lure you use?

Always use blade spinners. I think that day I was using a rainbow coloured veltic spinner.

How far up is this from the bridge
@AshrecNZ10 ай бұрын
Sorry. Do you mean the bridge on the main road?
@sharlenepoa95938 ай бұрын
Is it by the bridge?
@AshrecNZ8 ай бұрын
@sharlenepoa9593 which bridge? Not the one along the main road. It's further upstream. There's a small bridge on Hampson Rd I think.

Really bad way to treat a fish if you plan to release it. Keep them in the water… just unhook them and let them go after they recover, preferably in the moving oxygenated water.

Don’t handle fish like this if your releasing them. The fish should swim off almost as soon as you let go. Guarantee this fish died later on. Should be in the water at all times only taken out for a quick photo if you want. Should also wet your hands first to protect the fishes coating on its skin. Nice fish though

In west virginia I've scene guys stocking the streams ,throw trout off of bridges 30 feet to the water.trout are tougher than you think.what this guy did was not bad

wet hands or towel better, but holding the fish till it’ s back to breathing properly is totally good practice. personally i fish only to eat - it’s not a sport to me.

might as well get a feed from it if you're going to kill it
