@@grimreaper4801as long as they leave the bug fish no problem. Big fish lay more eggs than small fish an they lay thousands of eggs depending on species. Also if all your catching is undersized fish that typically means their population is greater than their food source so they dont get big.

Wait? I'm 67 years old. I've been fishing and hunting since I was 3 years old. The guy on here that said he was retired and wanted to fish. If I'm not mistaken, if you are over 65 years old, you no longer need a fishing license.

You do not have to have a license to feed yourself. It’s a God given natural born Right to hunt, fish and forage for food. I’ve seen it argued in court. An old man in bib coveralls clearly stated this case and the judge simply had nothing to argue with. She hammered case closed , got up and left the bench. We do not have to have permition from the state to eat and feed our families.

That money is used for some of the upkeep on our wma’s. FWC does a good job of maintaining the roads in most of those I don’t mind chipping in for that. Same as if you’re paying to be on a lease. But a helluva lot less.

It costs $17. That’s almost nothing. I don’t see why people don’t understand the value in having limits and an agency to oversee fishing. There’s a reason why these thing exist… because in the past having a free for all led to overfishing and depletion of the resource, damage to the ecosystem that is the home for fisheries. Especially now with so many new residents to Florida and so many more people fishing we need limits. Many places I fish I can’t find fish that are keeper size anymore. The pressure even from recreational fishing is great. Commercial fishing doesn’t happen inshore, so it’s not going to affect those fisheries. All fisheries are currently overfished though. And we can’t do anything about what’s beyond 200 miles, which is ridiculous.

Its always the case that the most harm to wildlife and nature in general, comes from corporate greed and cut corners. It doesnt come from deer hunters, and bass fisherman. Everyone should have a protected right to self-sustenance and providing for one’s self and family. Whether that be a backyard garden, weekly fishing trips to the local lake or ocean pier, or the annual hunting trip…everyone should have the right to put food on their table without dealing with big Ag and chain supermarkets. As long as common sense and conservation efforts are in place to ensure the fish and wildlife populations are not stressed or over burdened, then I don’t see a problem with such an amendment. This is right up there with the God given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Actually you had a privilege which can be taxed( fishing license) rights as designated by the federal constitution and case law can not be taxed or pay walled behind a fee. So technically fishing licenses should now be illegal but doubt that will happen. People will still be good little slaves and pay up.

@@AlphaOmega1025 that’s a double edge sword. If we didn’t have FWC, people would over harvest. I don’t like paying taxes anymore than the next guy, but in this case, we’re paying it to the state not the feds. FWC does a really good job in my opinion of regulating seasons and bag limits. Along with maintaining the wma’s. Ain’t nothing free anymore. What we should be more concerned with is the loss of woods due to construction. In 10 years there won’t be much private land left.

There is a HUGE difference between a parent or grandparent teaching their child or grandchild the joys of hunting and fishing and commercial hunting and fishing. People are confused because of bad reporting or maybe there was nothing to report on? It's just a vanity statement for Florida, it doesn't do anything more. Here's the full text of the rights Floridians granted to themselves....again. I feel like giving y'all a little golf clap because you can also fish and hunt in every other state and US territory and all but a handful of countries. How did Florida survive until now? "Fishing, hunting, and the taking of fish and wildlife.-Fishing, hunting, and the taking of fish and wildlife,including by the use of traditional methods, shall be preserved forever as a public right and preferred means of responsibly managing and controlling fish and wildlife. This section does not limit the authority granted to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under Section 9 of Article IV." That's it.

This group attacking it didn't read the amendment. There is a clause that states FWC still has restrictions in place.

Look, I’m a so called treehugger, a retired professional environmentalist. I have nothing against hunting and fishing as long as they are done humanely. But this law encourages and allows snares, bear baits, traps, whatever an unscrupulous person wants to use. It is cruel.

@nickiemcnichols5397 there’s nothing wrong with being a environmentalist until it infringes on our rights to hunt, trap and fish, I done trapping along the river when I was a kid, I sold the furs to buy clothes, I hunt not just to kill but for the meat and I fished for so we could eat, I live on the outer banks of North Carolina and over the last two decades the park closed down the beach’s now you can only have so many people and vehicles on the beach and you have to have a permit to drive on the beach plus license for salt water fishing this is bs it’s not the recreation fishing that’s the problem those trawlers that’s raping our coast lines ..the government is taking our rights away slowly, I’m 74 years old I seen to much over reach from the government..hunting and fishing is a big business here on the outer banks and the federal government almost destroyed the tourism at cape Hatteras back in the 90s but God put those animals here for us to not only to protect but for our enjoyment,

First of all the cops need to be educated on the law that states you can carry a firearm while hunting fishing and camping. No more unconstitutional stops for this crap. Also any lawsuits need to be paid by the officers that violate these rights and not the taxpayers

What they are trying to do is get rid of the law as it is that allows you the right to carry a gun while fishing. The move is all about your right to carry a gun while you are fishing.

It has ALWAYS been constitutional to fish and hunt. The government decided itself to enforce fishing/hunting laws on the people. Fishing/hunting laws are for COMMERCIAL PURPOSES ONLY!!!!!
