Fishing Big Snapper in The Manukau !!

I fished the Manukau in my kayak on Sunday and loved it! Can't believe I skipped my backyard all these years. I have to watch all your vids to learn how to strayline properly.

Did you do any good mate? I'm heading out from Clarke's Beach this Sunday, typically fish the Eastside so any pointers would be appreciated

@@johninnz Gidday John .. Nice to hear from you ... Sunday is around a high tide at around 1.30 pm at a height of 4 mtrs !! . I would fish the hour before the top & the hour afterwards just on the 4 to 6 mtrs mark up on the banks of a channel or gut way coming up onto the shallows. Mullet or salted Kahawai seem to be the flavor at the moment .... However a 6.00 am, top of the tide or pm would be more in your favor for nailing the big ones at this time of the year & March is our best big Snapper Fishing of the year for sure !!
