I can remember " back in the day," 1960s, launching was "mandraulic" without any motorised assistance. "Eres a man who will help us out." Whether I liked it or not.

I remember the same although the boats were smaller and lighter then. My dad hurt his shoulder launching Sharky's boat when I was about 4 or 5. I slept for the whole trip!

Sadly she sank yesterday, just off Lizard Point. The two crew were rescued by the RNLI. Both men are themselves also RNLI crew volunteers, so it was all rather personal.
