Fishing Catch & Cook Catfish, Day 6 Of 7 / Wilderness Living Challenge S04E07 Survival

The Wooded beardsman and I head out after only a few days at this location we find the game to be scarce. We have plenty of food but to achieve self sufficiency we need to keep moving to where the food can be fund so we move to a location we hope will provide us with the opportunity to catch and cook bass and catfish so we can get a brake form all the beaver and bear meat.

You can catch catfish or a larger bass if you hook that little fish thru the nose and either fish it free in deeper water or run a float or balloon. Bluegill live or cut are extremely attractive food item. Though illegal in my state limb lines are a survival option.

Tip: If you ever get brushed by the barbs on a catfish you can rub it on the slime from it's belly and it will reverse the sting. I grew up on the Mississippi and didn't know this for years. lol

Catfish spines ALWAYS cause extremely nasty infections. Even a tiny scrape will get infected. Best remedy is dip your wound in as hot of water as you can stand with plenty of salt in it. It stings, but works instantly.

you guys should have made chili from the bear & beaver,,, & fresh baked bread so you can dip in chili, have like a french speaking chef tag along with you, that would be one highly viewed show, have a separate boat all dedicated to the cooking chef, few buckets of red wine, all the seasonings found in gourmet restaurant, potatoes, pastas, fresh veges, fruits, flour for deserts, ALL best PIE supply, & a cappuccino machine!!! all cooking supplies, just go out into wild & create the most awesome food on earth, have like fresh picked mushrooms etc, have a 5 star chef(beyond a 5 star) but the catch is he is an alcoholic, but his cooking skill is unmatched, just bring a gourmet restaurant with you into the wild

Funny but painful story. I was fishing with my brother and nephew, he caught a catfish, bought three pounds. When my nephew swung his rod tip over to me to take It off, the side fin stuck in my calf muscle about an inch. It was painful, and the fin has tiny barbs and I couldn’t get the fish out of my leg, It had to be yanked out. Moral of the story don’t get finned in the leg😂😂

they are all good for certain situations but mainly flat bands .45 or .55 thick tapered that's what I use to most for target practice but when I'm out hunting I use the tharaband gold like I sell on the website

U can get a cheap one to practice with at wal mart for about $5 and it'll last u for a good while they're pretty sturdy I had one for a few years before the bands broke I think they're made by Dasiy but Barnett has one called the widow or something for $10 and it looks well built as well
