Big learning curve at this new spot! It's a much tougher hunt here at the new spot since we had no prior knowledge of how it works. Turns out many of the ducks were just resident ducks holding up in one particular section of the river. Had we known that, we could have set up for them and made an ambush rather than try to chase them down.

I’ve heard thumping in the woods too. To me it resembled someone chopping wood with an axe but there certainly wasn’t anybody out there. Heard another weird one a different night sounded like a metal garage door slamming. Best not to think too much about it give ya the creeps. I just keep my pistol on me or my slingshot lol. I think it's great that the two of you have different gear from each other. That's the cool thing about cooperative survival. Each of you should (and do) have the basic gear and basic skills, but once you get beyond that, each of you brings different gear, different skills, and different strengths. Need to wrap some bear fat and wooddobo around the outside of the duck. Eat some more mushrooms, onions, ginger, garlic when you feel a bit queasy. Lol just waiting for the creepy sasquatch to come out of the pit and cook a Chris zacken seasoned with wooddobo and wrapped in bear fat.

I do not like horror movies either. And Deliverance...I watched the 'tv' version as a late teen ( I know what was edited out and never had a desire to watch the full version!)! The part I remember most is that hand coming up out of the water at the end. I always think of that when I hike and see swampy /brackish water. It still creeps me out...even 40 years later. Thanks for the adventure.

Fun times. I'd love to try that diet one day, except with veggies of course. It makes so much sense that you wouldn't feel hungry all the time without the insulin rushes all the time like with starches, but it's just so much meat. You'll be a lean mean fighting machine by the end.

Yeah guys I think you all should at least wash your hands with soap before eating, and think about cross contamination from preparing game and animals. Bring the proper kitchen tools to cook too.
