Yeah, the weather has been crappy to say the least. Here in NC where I fish the water has been around 55-58 degrees! Tough going. Two times out and only 4 fish to show for it. A nice Largemouth out of Falls Lake and 3 really big White Crappie out of Lake MIchie in Durham. Great content sir!

Cold water here in NJ makes for lousy fishing. Let’s hope mid-April brings warmer water and those big bass.

If it's allowed in your state for two hooks on a set-up, using a tungsten dropper as the drop shot weight, you can sometimes catch bottom roaming fish on that AND on your actual dropshot hook!

Thank you so much for taking the time to make all these videos and keeping it realistic. I've recently had a total knee replacement and have been binge watching your vids while doing physical therapy on my knee. I have been able to go to my local pond with my grandson and put some of your advise to good use. I will try the realistic rig the next time out weather permitting (high winds). My grandson wants to send you a vid next time he catches a fish. Again thanks for keeping it realistic. BTW we love the wrestling clips.

I'm going to have to try that Realistic Rig. Looks pretty simple, and seems like you catch some pretty good fish with it. I've never had much success with the gulp minnow, but maybe if I try it this way I will do better. Nice video as always. Nice to see the Largemouth make an appearance. Let's hope we start getting some warmer days soon. It's been a roller coaster of temperatures here in NC. Water temp goes up to 67, then crashes back down to 57 and kills the bite. Sigh. Here's to hoping we get consistent temps soon. Cheers and thanks for the great video!

not a bad day. When i fished for first time in first week of Feb the water was already above 50. It has been moving from low 50s to high 50s for 5-6 weeks and it cant make its mind.. I wish it would get stuck at 63 instead of 55... big difference. A lot of fish shallow.

I use the split shots on the tag end when river fishing with hellgrammites... hangups are too common for regular drop shot weights and the split shots pull off before breaking... in short, it saves money.

Another nice video! I might have to try The Realistic Rig to see I too can catch some bluegill. Thanks for sharing.
@lolmetswhathappeneduhhh20292 жыл бұрын
I hear ya there on the water temp. By this time last year bass had already moved in with the water nice and warm, chasing bluegill and got several 3+ lbers, including one 7 over. This year ENTIRELY different every bass I've caught have been under 10 inches and my best days were a week ago when I caught a handful of nice black crappie on April 4th and 5th. Got a couple large bluegill as well on separate days. But by and large, its been a SLOOOOOW go. After that cold front last Wednesday I havent been able to find crappie at all and have gotten the skunk twice. Its been a struggle. The water needs to warm the heck up and get these fish moving to the shallows to spawn. In my experience, 60 degrees seems to be the magic number for water temps.
