Love your take on Livescope, Clayton! Too many 🤡s and couch cushion experts out there that hate on it. At the end of the day, it doesn't put the fish in your boat. You still have to catch them! Love the videos!

@micahdunleavy92275 ай бұрын
Well I don’t dislike lovescope but it defiantly makes it much easier to catch fish.. Idk if it’s a good thing for fisheries but I think it’s awesome and fun to use..
@joryhaken45895 ай бұрын
@micahdunleavy9227 I think what you meant to say is it makes the fish easier to find. It absolutely does nothing to help you catch them. Livescope isn't putting fish on your hook. At best, you get to see how the fish reacts (or doesn't react) to each bait you throw and helps you determine what the fish want that day. Once you gather enough data and knowledge from using that tool will you hopefully catch more? Of course! But you still need to put in the work to learn. I can find a pod of fish and throw a Leech all day long, but if those fish want a Minnow you're not catching them with or without Livescope.
@micahdunleavy92275 ай бұрын
@@joryhaken4589 if you find fish it makes it much easier to catch them.. It’s about 3/4 of the battle is finding them, when I find fish I usually catch them.. Maybe sometimes they are off the bite and it can take a bit more to make it happen but if you don’t know where they are you sure as hell aren’t catching them.. .. I don’t like these arguments I think they are disingenuous, “it helps you find fish not catch them!” .. Come on, I just watched you cast right at fish and catch them a lot of the time and you couldn’t do that so precisely if you didn’t have a live view of the fish.. I am not against it but trying to act like it’s not putting fish in the boat is kinda silly.. You might have to switch presentations! Oh my goodness you have to do that without live-scope all the time anyway and you don’t even know if you’re throwing right on fish and they’re not interested so you’re just doing it blind, if you are looking right at fish and seeing what it responds to it’s a heck of a lot easier to know if they want something or not and when to try something different..

Great video, I got the Echomap Ultra 126sv and been using it with the live scope for the last three years. I’ve learned so much and seen some really amazing things that it’s just crazy. I hold my camera up trying to capture some screenshots and video, but my biggest regret is not understanding the screen recording capability and not getting the GPSMAP series. Looks like I can get an ECHOMAP ULTRA 2 that does screen recording in the echo map series now and they’re giving the older 126 away at about half price now so that hurts a little bit, but I’ll probably have to re-buy just to do screen recording.

How far into the water do you put your transducer?

Far enough that it does not come out the water when it's rough out. I would say about 6-9" below the surface. I will try to measure in a future video and add it in a video.

You're always a step ahead, thank you! I just got my lvs34 and have been spending some evenings playing with settings. I found myself wondering about yours last week since I noticed they were so clear, I do think some of it is the better water quality up north. We have a high amount of recreational boating here in Indiana so I have learned to work with a lot of things in the water showing up (sea weed, propwash, bottom silt). Wired the 93sv uhd2 to its own lithium in a shuttle that moves around the boat tracks as needed. I noticed you run lake master on hummingbird also, hows the side imaging compare between garmin and hummingbird in your experience?
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors6 ай бұрын
These days I only use my humminbird for mostly any auto charting I have done in the past. I started using the new gt56 transducer for my Echo Map and I am blown away. The side vu is just as clear as the mega side imaging. Very happy with it!
