Nice adventure you guys had there. The Clown Knife Fish is a praised Species within the Multi-Species angling community. Definitely not easy to land one of those in Florida! Good stuff.

I thought it was a "no no" to release invasive fish? Anyhoo I heard knife fish are a delicacy in Thailand. For me it would be worth a taste.
@tinkhuu63404 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, yes. You're not supposed to put invasive fish back into the water. Texas is kind of funky in terms of certain areas with grass carp. Most places, if you catch a grass / Asian carp, you can kill it before putting it back into the water. Some places have Tripoli (correct me if I'm wrong) grass carp permits where you HAVE to put them back. When grass carp populations are controlled, they can be useful in getting rid of invasive plants. However the majority of places have them listed as invasive so you have to immediately "remove the head or intestines". Source: Texas park and wildlife website

@MrPaulluma7 жыл бұрын
Paulpro PP crazy at a pond here in Phoenix, AZ my lil bro and I were walking up to fish and a dude had on a stringer a pretty large ass pacu that he caught on a piece of a hotdog while catfishing. Thing was prolly 12-15lbs if I had to guess. It had crazy human-like teeth and it obviously was someones pet fish at one point time, they let it go, it survived and thrived. The dude let it go but I think it didn't make it. He must've had it on the stringer to long, oh well.

@packbadge8 жыл бұрын
No they are not. Many fish have elongated bodies or elongated dorsal or anal fins similar to eels but are different family of fish. Eels lack pelvic fins and sometimes also pectoral fins...where as these clown featherbacks have pelvic fins and pectoral fins.
