I remember about six months ago I thought I had a snag in the bris river. when I lifted the rod way high and stayed there, it’d slooowly rise. I thought maybe a log, after a while I saw me leader and then that I my hook was caught on a lost line. Pulled it in and saw a broken off steel leader. Pulled the rest of that in and there was a 62cm gold spotted rock cod on the end of it. Curious how long it was like that down there poor bastard. Awesome catch from sunny too he got to fight it unlike me haha pretty cool looking fish i reckon. Pretty sure they’re part of the grouper family but they go by a bunch of names as old mate mentioned prior

im gonna need the science for the socks brogs
@Briggsy16 күн бұрын
Hahaha, I think it's because I wear Volleys that are a touch too small (so they're really on point for landing fish/during the fight in dangerous & slippery zones) and when i wear socks with them each downward angled step pulls on the top part of the sock (like the top of the shoe pulls the sock away from the toes towards the ankle) and it rubs on the toes, also even with cut nails it grabs on the big toe nail and pulls it back. Not a big deal for a few hours but over days and with wet feet I get blisters on my toes and I think that's why i always lose my big toe nails after back to back trips? So chopping the toe zone out seems to help lol

Do you guys ever fish with bait?
@Briggsy14 күн бұрын
Hi Mate, I used to a lot when I was a kid but once I started using lures really fell in love with it. The feeling of working the lure in a way that attracts the hit is super rewarding for me! If I do use bait it's usually foraged bait in the area, like pipi's or crab, no sinker or very small one and just float it out there, the nibble from bait also very fun.
@harryhayes441116 күн бұрын
Would u normally throw bright flashy lures or realistic?
@Briggsy16 күн бұрын
