It’s been kept a bit quiet, but a lot of people have been using prawns from Lidl. They’ve been on offer and are Sol-Mar brand Langostinos. Whole, shell on prawns. Elastic them on and just snip off the end of the head and tail to stop them spinning. Shhhhhhh! 😉

Hi jase n cliff you both ok. You can't beat uncooked prawns for bait . Cod like them in the winter bigstylo up are neck of the woods. Well done jase on your hound well deserved matey. All the best from GRIMSBY.

Well done on the hound. Good to see you using the prawns, i should of been more precise about them. I buy mine from the fish monger shell on! Theres some nice juices in the head i just take the tail off to stop them spinning on the cast . Having a go down pevensey bay this morning the seas looking sexy after that blow yesterday. Fingers crossed the fish will turn up...good luck to all.

Not bad, I had a little pup early on then it was quiet until about an hour after high and I had another hound about 5lb ish.. both on the old faithful prawns. Probably give it another try early in the morning as highs at 4am.

Yeah tbh the fishing for me has been v poor compaired to last year as of late hope it changes soon. Any tips on the bass fishing?

@@TheEastbourneFisherman Its the opposite for me. Last year was a struggle. I had 9 bass at my mark i told you about a couple of weeks ago. All on the lure. Infact they was all on my little 22g savage gear V2 sandeel in white. I haven't bait fished for a while, But i have some new line for my bait reels so i am going to try get out while this wind is making the water to murky for lure fishing. I always found just fresh black lug or mackerel baits anywhere from 10 to 50 yards out produces bass.

The line on the pennel hook is threaded the wrong way, the idea of the turned out eye is so the line can run straight

Works the same but yes, threading it like shown does increase the amount of damage from the eye.
