That’s the best feeling though ever. This one time I was fishing the Columbia river on vacation in Oregon and we were packing up after 6 hours I grabbed the 6th and final rod to reel in and I turned to the guide and said “we’re stuck on something” he grabbed the rod and said “were not stuck that’s a fish, (turns to my dad),call your wife back tell her you’re gonna be a while” 90 minutes and 6 miles down stream late we pulled in a white sturgeon over 10 feet long 120 years plus old and roughly 350-450 lbs . The guide said it was the largest he’s ever seen in his 25 years of working the river. We weren’t allowed to take it out the water because it’s a law but it was the greatest vacation and fishing memory I have.

how do you keep shad alive they always die even in a round live well with stuff in the water.?
@johnbracewell37008 жыл бұрын
Reelfishing. catching what stuff in the water? lol
@Capt_Billy8 жыл бұрын
Salt.
@johnbracewell37008 жыл бұрын
Panfish doesn't salt kill fresh water fish? lol but for keeping any bait fish alive you need flowing water so a live well with a pump or one with small holes that hangs in the water but if you don't have either of those you'll only be able to keep very few the more you have in the livewell the quicker they breathe the oxygen in the water up putting a handfull of ice in the water will slow this process tho
@Capt_Billy8 жыл бұрын
You only need a cup of salt for about 30 gallons of water to help keep shad alive. Keep in mind saltwater fish need about a pound of salt per gallon so you are not adding much. You need good aeration and you need to turn over the water often.
@johnbracewell37008 жыл бұрын
Panfish I've never fished with shad heard they die easy tho have fished shiners a few times have used live bream for bass many times tho normaly just 5-6 at a time in a 5 gallon bucket with no problems

I purchased a fry Clown Knife that still had a egg sac. I raised him for several years and he was eating 25 feeder goldfish a day. I couldn't afford to keep him so I donated him to a local bar in Hermosa Beach, CA. When I left that area, he was still living in the huge aquarium at the bar. He was at least 10 years old at that time. I have no idea of how long they live, but who knows? He might be 40 by now.
