Been enjoying your videos man. I'm a local too and I'm trying to learn to fish the jetty. Taking some inspiration from your videos!

Hey thanks man. It's nice to hear my videos are inspiring people to go fishing. The rocks can be tough. I'm planning to make a video hopefully soon. Maybe a few. With some tips and methods that work for me. Including gear, rigs and conditions I like for a fun day fishing in the bay. Keep trying man. The more time you spend out there the more you learn. I'm still learning. Thanks for watchin man. And if that was you that subscribed thank you.

@@dockking3622 Yeah your videos definitely make it seem like fishing the jetty is possible. I've been hesitant for a long time since I typically do surf fishing. I would be interested in a video with setup, rigs, and conditions you like. I'm also trying to understand what swells are better days to be out there. And yep that was me that subscribed. You're welcome!

That's funny. I am actually intimidated by surf fishing. I have tried a few times with no luck. I grew up fishing lakes in socal. So still water is really my comfort zone. I have been meaning to get more experience in the surf. I think we may need to trade some tips for sure.

@@dockking3622 Surf fishing isn't all that bad. The toughest part is battling the crashing surf (at times) and the current. The darn current likes to drag your rig to hell and back! Pretty much every time I go surf fishing I use the same Gulp! Sandworms that you've used in your videos. The redtails love them!

First time fishing the ocean whats the best rig to catch fish

First time? For a simple rig you can use a sliding sinker above your hook. Easy rig one knot. Next option I would try is a three way swivel. If you have them. Tie a length of line to two of the eyes on the swivel. One line gets your hook the other gets the sinker. Attach the third eye to your main line. Other option if you have no three way swivel. Dropper loop about 18 inches above your weight. Easy dropper loop knot instructions on KZbin. I hope this helps. Good luck and best fishes!
