Great tips. I am a serial wind runner. I hide from it most of the time. Will take your suggestions and reevaluate fishing on windy days.

I totally agree. As long as you can control your boat, I think your chances of catching them go up instead of down. All of the reasons that you mentioned, and, I think the "chop" on the water distorts their vision so they can't necessarily make you out in your boat.
@TylersReelFishing4 жыл бұрын
Yep! That chop definitely helps

How possible would it be for you to do head to head competition's with your KZbin friends? Like say Darien is fishing his home lake and you fish a lake near your home, same day, same time, best 5 wins or something like that. I think it would be fun to watch.

That’s totally possible! I’ve done that before with Brenden Miller so maybe we will have to do it again all over the youtube space

Had wind gusts up to 31 mph yesterday, average was about 21 mph, i went fishing and didn’t get a bite. It was just a bad day for it, there were white caps on the water so if that doesn’t say anything then i dont know what does😂

I fish mostly offshore for smallmouth. If I'm fishing against the wind, would I put the trolling motor on continuous mode and cast towards the wind to cover water? I find myself basically anchor in the same spot because obviously the wind is blowing in my face and I'm using my trolling motor to go against the wind.. this is what I struggle with and trying to get better at.. fishing against the wind offshore.. any tip would help.. thanks
@TylersReelFishing3 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your fish. Sometimes they want the lure coming down the current, and sometimes opposite. Usually though, you have to do whatever you can to be most efficient. So if that is going down at the bank with the wind, you will cover more water and use less trolling motor battery. If I am fishing offshore though, I always want to be spot locked and casting into the wind

Mantap bro 👍👍👍🙏

What about being able to cast in 20mph winds from shore. Or this is more from boat?

Great informative video. How do you fish midday with sunny skies/cloudy skies with no wind?
@DRfishing185 жыл бұрын
Also what baits and reaction baits do you throw during those conditions?
@TylersReelFishing5 жыл бұрын
Man, that’s a whole video in itself, and it totally depends on the time of year, water clarity, what species of bass, and what forage they are feeding on! Keep watching my videos and you’ll learn what all this means and how to interpret it for yourself
@ethans7914 Жыл бұрын
I fish from the bank most of the time. I want and need to fish weightless as these lakes i fish arent too deep. How the hell do i combat the wind or do i just shut up and use a weighted worm ?
@TylersReelFishing Жыл бұрын
1. Throw down wind 2. Suck it up and throw a heavier lure
@jayare68723 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the maneuverability of a boat is what makes it possible to fish in windy conditions?
@TylersReelFishing3 жыл бұрын
I mean, I never really think of that since my boat is big enough to handle any wind. This video was more meant to be how to actually cast and retrieve, and what when does to your lures

Your how-to videos are great but I really miss full videos of actually fishing and catching them lol.

Are you saying to fish the way the wind is blowing not to throw against it?
@TylersReelFishing2 жыл бұрын
No, throw against it if you can. It’s more natural to a fish to have a bait coming down current as opposed to up
@TrollfaceJINX322 жыл бұрын
@@TylersReelFishingok but wouldn't that lead to more slack in your line cus the wind is blowing it makeing it harder to sense a bite ?
