An interesting thing about the Dark Link fight, is that at the start of the fight, he only attacks when you do. When you hit him more and progress through the fight, he starts attacking without waiting for you to.

I've got an idea for a video. What if you tried loading the battle with Ganondorf into weird places? Think it would be interesting seeing what happens if you beat him in areas nowhere near Ganon's Castle since the whole escaping the castle sequence is supposed to happen right after.

that, or hes heard the 'Legend' of Twilight Princess Ganondorf, so Dark Link overcompensates by being Hyper-Aware (instead of Distracted)... ...still dont know why it stops him from Attacking though...maybe hes also like RoboCop or whatever, and cant attack targets who are only "armed" with non-threatening objects...

@@rtyuik7 My guess is due to coding. Technically, when Link is equipped with a fishing rod, he is in a non-combat situation as far as the game is concerned. In which case it appears as if Dark Link instead acts as either Link's Shadow(if anyone notices, Link's Shadow disappears after passing the island that Dark Link is encountered on), or another Link entirely.

The reason they don't work in Lava or the chamber of sages areas is because there is no water boxes. Water boxes are the physics that says there is water in the area and allows Link to swim/dive. It's what the fish use to swim in otherwise they just fall because they think they are outside the water. Water boxes are separate from water mesh you see on a map.

I noticed that the DEKU BABA inside the DEKU TREE when Link's an adult are giant sized, which is really interesting! I'd love to see a video about exploring INSIDE THE DEKU TREE as an adult as it always bugged me that the DEKU TREE wasn't accessible in the Adult Timeline (I get JABU JABU's BELLY not being accessible, but the GREAT DEKU TREE should be accessible like DODONGO's CAVERN) despite the fact that the GREAT DEKU TREE died with its mouth open, yet it is closed seven years later! I assume there may be versions where this wasn't the case as I remember a Nintendo Power screenshot that showed Adult Link standing in front of the Great Deku TREE with its mouth open back in the day!

So there's a way you can walk up to the fish while you've cast the rod like at 15:00 without cheats - it's not quite as simple in v1.1 or v1.2 of the game, where you have to dive at a specific point of the fishing pond and cast your rod at the same time, but in v1.0, you can equip the hover boots and cast the rod right as the hover is about to run out, and it works the same way. This is how you steal the rod in the vanilla game

If I were to guess, it looks like the lure falls forever like that because the map you loaded has no water. It appears to select the highest water level (or maybe just the first water level in memory) to set the fishing water level, so with no water in the map, that level is null. Just a guess idk if you've gotten it to load in any other maps that don't have water.

It would seem where the fisherman spawns gives you a somewhat exact indicator where the maps 0 point XYZ location is. I would assume the 0x,0y,0z would be in front of the fisherman's desk back at the pond just to give you an idea. Still, huge missed opportunity for Nintendo to make a fish anywhere function instead of locking it away in just one map. And especially missed with the 3DS remake :P

This made me think that there is a miss opportunity with fishing in this game. There could have been a Fishing log to catch fish from all over Hyrule, but logging the location of where you catch them by means of bodies of water like a river or a pond. Too bad this isn't a thing. It would have been nice though. You would have to own the fishing rod instead of borrowing it. That would allow us to swap between a sword and a rod freely.

I use to use the Iron boots and and go into the water so just Link's head was out and could fish from there in the fishing pond. I hit it once where for some reason Link was sliding below the water just as the fish caught and I could still reel it in. So Link was underwater holding a fish. But that was the only time I ever had a glitch like that.

Hey! I love your videos! In a future video, do you think you think you can explore the unreachable water and lava planets in Super Mario Galaxy's Bowser's Galaxy Reactor? These planets are different from the ice and lava planets you visit - you can see both of them in the distance at the top of the tower in the beginning of the level. The lava planet is massive with fireballs swirling it, and the water planet is just a featureless ball of water. I've noticed these planets since I was a little kid, and I've always dreamed of going to those planets up close, even if there is nothing much there to see. If this isn't enough content for a single video, do you think you could ever do this in a compilation video where you visit multiple places? Thank you!

Death Mountain Crater might not have collision for the lava, as the respond is activated just as link "sinks into" the lava. I'd guess the same thing would happen outside Gannon's Castle, and inside at the Fire and Shadow trials.

I think it's lack of a water plane/box. The lava areas have no water level so the fish/pond level is set to zero which is way down in the void (that or because there's no start position for the water, the fishing line goes down forever) Unlike Breath of the Wild it seems like lava is not treated like a water plane in OOT. :P

Um, Swanky are you not aware of the trick to fishing underwater (its been awhile but I remember there was a exploit that I think involved the Hover Boots that resulted in Link being able to cast while underwater (not sure if I ever got it to work on my N64 and not sure if it was patched in re-releases or the 3DS remake)! Then again maybe you did but forgot about it or it just wouldn't work outside the fishing pond or one the particular version you were using!
