Have you looked into the Amiga demo scene? All 3D used to be rendered real time...from pre-calculated points as the machine can display 3D, but not calculate it in real time. On the N64 there are a lot of real time cut scenes because of a lack of space on the cart. The PS1 on the other hand had the space to just put video on it. Some games like Dino Crisis 2 used both.

this was an awesome video! I remember tinkering with the debug rom years ago and interrupting the dream cutscene and messing with the camera angles. I specifically remember adjusting the camera angles so that you can see the Ganondorf-on-horse actor spawn and shift into view and being SCARRED for life lmao. It was so creepy because the animation for him riding the horse doesn't trigger until after he's within the camera perspective so you just see him eerily shift forward on the bridge, frozen like a statue. If you can, i highly recommend going back and watching it for yourself haha its pure nightmare fuel!

There's a dev build of the OoT randomizer that enables all the rando QoL improvements but without actually randomizing the game, so it's basically OoT without cutscenes or Navi interruptions. I played through the game that way just for fun once.

Love your videos. Actually, there is a gs code that forces the game to play as adult Link always. If you turn it on before you select a new game you'll be adult in Link's nightmare and he even wakes up as adult. Here's the code if you're interested: 8011A5D7 0000. It works on v1.0 only. I was messing with the game by using this code many times. Trying to complete the game only as adult link. It was kinda interesting experience. You should try it too, maybe it can be even a new video idea for you.
