Fishing is always a winner on an Intrepid. Great video

"I want to do it myself" is a direct reflection on a good father. Obviously the father is well to do..wealthy. However it does not reflect a "have someone else do it" attitude on his kids. A real american family.

It also shows an eagerness to learn, which will serve his kids well in many aspects of life.

My father took me fluke fishing for the first time when i was about 5-6 years old, i was spoiled because my uncle at the time had a 50ft egg harbor. I was addicted instantly and it makes me happy to see young kids like this really enjoy themselves and not buried in a tablet or cell phone. Great job Skinner you’re the man, truly the greatest on the East coast!

i take my son fishing on inshore and no tablets allowed, but i see alot of other parents bring their kids tablets, i dont even let my 7-8 year old look at my phone either, they whine and suffer all day and have fun too when we catch different and werid crabs and fish all over long island and nyc.

Hey John - love your stuff. Quick question for you. I’m looking to add another fluke setup to my arsenal and am struggling to find the right rod. I spend a good amount of time fluking on the Nantucket shoals. As you likely know, there is a lot of current there and it’s not unusual to need 8, 10 or even 12 ounces at times. Do you have a rod you would recommend for this application of heavier weight/deep water fluke fishing? My current setups have too soft of a tip and can’t really handle the heavier stuff. Thanks.

Hey John. Looking for some advice with equipment; I bought one of those new Quantum Accurist reels, I believe it’s an S3, I think the same blue one you have in the video. For some reason, every time I try to set the hook, the line spools out, even with the drag tightened down as much as I can get it. Any ideas?

That's not right. Take it back. I've had numerous models of Accurists over the years. I've never had that problem.
